Photography can feel like a really complicated hobby. There’s nothing more frustrating than having a beautiful camera, but not knowing how to get the best from it.
As an award winning professional photographer with ten years experience running my own business at Rosie Parsons Photography, it brings me so much joy to get feedback from students who say how my courses have finally helped them understand their DSLR. I love to inspire and encourage people with their cameras in their photography journey.
My work has been published in OK Magazine, Digital Photo Pro, Cosmo Bride, You & Your Wedding Magazine and on the cover of Professional Photographer, among others. I love shooting photography for Shutterstock and I’ve enjoyed sharing my photography tips as an invited expert for Photobox.
I currently have two photography courses on Udemy - DSLR Photography Camera Settings: Photography for Beginners and my just launched new course - Creative Fundamentals of Photography.
I love coming alongside students to help them take their photography to the next level and running the fabulous and friendly Facebook photography communities that have sprung up from the courses. It would be great to have you be part of that.

Rosie is an amazing instructor who explains everything very well and in a lively manner. So easy to listen to her and absolutely possible to do the entire course in one sitting. Learnt a lot from the course and would totally recommend! Thank you so much, Rosie, would absolutely look into more of your classes!

The course was very helpful for me, as it gave me the possibility to better understand the basic principals of photography. I think it is an excellent course for whoever is interested in photographing people. Unfortunately my main subjects are either landscape or jewelry, so I felt that I missed some specific directions for this kind of photography.

Loved this course! I'm a somewhat advanced photographer, and I found her course to be very helpful and insightful, especially with posing and finding the best natural light for your subjects. The instructor is easy to listen to, warm and inviting, and her course is well organized and flows nicely! Highly recommended!

I found that Ms. Parson conveyed the essentials necessary at the very start clearly and elegantly. Lighting is so taken for granted and yet is the key ingredient. One always tend to think of having the right camera and how settings apply, I know I did. This has real world application and will immediately improve my picture taking.

I've got all the fundamentals, rules and tips necessary for start photo shooting as a professional one. Rosie is so nice and calm and smiling all the time and it makes it all so fun and interesting. The studing subjects are very clear and the examples are shown in a precise way so there is no place to be confused or not understand something. I've got all I need and all I was looking for to start my photo shooting experiences in a professional way. I will definitely look for all Rosie's othere courses. Thank you!

Really nice for composition and thinking about shooting without all of the technical detail. I did Rosie's beginners DSLR course which went through Iso, apature, shutter speed and then this one. Although this seems more basic this is another really important course to think about however you are filming. Thanks!

Rosie Parsons explains everything you need to know with clarity and accessibility. The case studies are very helpful in that they show the theory in action. She is a friendly and engaging instructor who makes every step of the learning process fun. I have learnt a multitude about composition, lighting and posing that I can now apply to my photography. I definitely recommend this course!

Needs to be spread over several sessions to get most of information. some of it a bit above me at the moment as a total beginner still learning to use camera. Light section very good but does not give hints on what to do if the perfect conditions are not there like a room indoors with no natural light eg cloudy outside, no natural light or dark conditions which does not allow for light.

it is very informative, and has given me a challenge to think about and apply right away ! plus the teacher is adorable and easy to follow. I took this course to take better pictures of the furniture I refinish , and even though it was mostly portraiture, the principles still apply. Plus, I know I'll be taking better pics of my family and friends! I loved it .
