If you want to make beautiful music on the piano without years of grueling, expensive lessons, this is the course you want.
I do not teach note-reading in this course. If your goal is to play Beethoven, Bach, or other classical music, this course is not for you. It is a course in popular piano playing.
I spent years taking weekly lessons as a child, studying music in school and college – but when I became a full-time, professional piano player 45 years ago, I discovered that most of what I learned did not apply to what I was trying to do. I wanted to play popular music in night clubs, cabarets, casinos and show rooms. I learned more from working with other professional musicians than I ever did from teachers, either privately or in school.
What I show you in this course are the things that I learned to make music easy, effective and fun. It's how the pros play.
In addition, you have an unconditional,no questions asked, 30 day, money-back guarantee. Nothing at risk!

This was an interesting overview of how to play from lead sheets. Unfortunately, too much information was crammed into a very short course. It might be more useful to break this down into two or three courses based on the student's knowledge. I can read music and have been playing for 4 years. I have never played from lead sheets and was focused on that. It didn't get interesting until section 9.

I am not finished with the course yet, but i feel it is just what I needed to learn to play the piano as I want to....I took lessons when I was younger so I knew the basic notes but was not taught the chords much less how to incorporate them into playing ......I am very happy I took this course....I am learning so much...thank you

This teacher is very good, and now I will promise to practice and learn all the parts to make myself a good pianist without knowing a lot about music int he sheet paper because I do not have time to go deep on piano. These lessons should be more than enough for me. Thank you.

I am enjoying this course a lot. I will continue practicing and applying the chords in a new way for me to play the piano. I have always just played reading the music, so this was the first time I have learned all of these chords and how to play them from just practicing and remembering them. I think it will definitely enhance my playing. I plan to continue accessing the course and replaying some of the videos as I continue to practice what I have learned. I only wish I had discovered this sooner. Thank you very much! It is no doubt a great experience and for very little cost. Unbelievable really.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The instructor not only shows you but explains why and how to construct chords, intervals. Some very useful exercises to help learn and retain the information. I personally learned a lot of valuable information from Mr Prentice, he took the confusion out of chords for me, I understand the theory and how to practice them now. THANK YOU!!!

Good explanation of chord based piano for the novice to advanced beginner. I liked the 'tips' the instructor showed for the Diminished and Augmented and Suspended Chords. Also he explained well how to make a simple chord sound fuller. I will look for other courses by the instructor, but will also hope for more digital chord overlays for easier viewing.

Just plain and simply excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. I have been playing classical piano for over 60 years and would you believe that I do not have any kind of 'savvy' with chords? How lovely it would be to have you work one on one with me and transform me into an amazing 'chordster!' That is my greatest desire - to broaden my knowledge in the joy of piano. Thank you very, very much for your instruction!

Loving this course! Stan's teaching style is slow and deliberate to make sure that every step is thoroughly explained before moving on to the next. He shares his knowledge and experience, not only as a teacher, but as a pianist and entertainer as well! Loving it!

This course is an excellent introduction to chords and popular music playing. The teacher has a very nice style of teaching and makes each point very clearly. I hope he will build on this course and develop a continuation of these techniques into an intermediate level course. The only aspect of the course that I think could be enhanced would be to see these various chord techniques used in examples of different styles of songs.
By Carol Montoni on 11/24/2016
I enjoyed your method of teaching. I would recommend this course be split into 2 courses. Extended chords should be in separate session. Provide music that supports the practice of each new chord learned. There has to be a way to make the practice pleasing to the ear. Almost every piano class I take with Udemy leaves me a bit empty at the end. Where do I go from here? Is there more by this instructor?
