Ho iniziato a studiare il pianoforte da adulto, e, dopo aver imparato gli accordi e le notazioni del pianoforte moderno, avverto il desiderio di improvvisare. Incuriosito dal titolo di questo corso l’ho acquistato anche se era in inglese. Prima di tutto posso dire che Mark parla in inglese comprensibile anche per chi come me non è madrelingua, inoltre sa spiegare molto bene. Le prime lezioni le ho letteralmente divorate. È’ stato un piacere comprendere come abbellire, ampliare gli accordi e poi da lì iniziare a improvvisare con i suggerimenti dell’insegnante. Ho completato il corso e chiaramente su alcune lezioni ci ritornerò anche in futuro perché comunque il pianoforte ha bisogno di tempo ed esercitazioni, poi regala grandi soddisfazioni. Pertanto consiglio questo corso perché è benfatto, un insegnante bravo, umile e ripeto comprensibile anche per chi è straniero e non parla inglese tutti i giorni.

The course is great until the intermediate level, everything was explained slowly and was easy to understand. But the advanced section is so much complicated, fast and weren’t explained very well and step-by-step as before, unfortunately I didn’t get much of that section though I did repeat it over and over again. Maybe a few more advances lessons are needed in between.

Hello Mark! It's just like you say all the time in the course - you have included "nuances" and things that will take my playing to the next level! So I'm giving you the best rating possible because this is by far the best piano course I've had from Udemy (I have 5 ) along with another one I have! Just an improvement idea: Maybe you could include some documentation / pdf's for each course. I know you do not want to include music sheets / notes as that is not the purpose of the course, but maybe you could create visual charts showing which finger is playing which key on the key board in which order, etc. Just an idea that I think would seriously boost the sales of this course!:) Take care and please create more courses like this one as you have one potential customer here! I am an intermediate pianoplayer playing from piano scores or lead sheets. I wanted to move away from pure note reading. This course really helps me to achieve that goal. I have only been practicing for 6 weeks and already see good results. Its exciting to see that and at the same time it is freeing. The course is very well planned and packed with useful and practical tips. The instructor is one of the few that genuinely shares his craft freely with the audience. thank you for that!

I been playing the piano for 2 years now. I couldn’t get my improvisation down and it was really discouraging bc the basic chords were really basic and not that interesting. I found your course and the moment I seen you add the 2nd to a chord and made it sound good I thought to myself wait there’s something here. I kept going through the course and started adding all the stuff you teach to my piano Arsenal. Now I’m up to the piano worship song in the intermediate section and I’m still getting better. The worship song guided me in a way on how you can switch between melodic and percussive but more in depth. I’m just amazed because what I have now I’m good and can do all sorts of things with. In the advanced section it’s only going to be better. I’m really grateful that I took this course. You organized everything a piano player need for improv. This is way better than going on YouTube and just picking things with out the proper piano creative foundation.

BRILLIANT COURSE! This course is especially good for people who prefers to play by ear than sheet music reading. Mark has explained the concept of improvisation and illustrated very clearly how he applied this to the music he composed. So students can apply immediately the techniques into music writing, and many popular music solo performances and accompaniments. I am an intermediate "play by ear" pianist and I have definitely benefited from this course moving into the more advanced techniques. One suggestion to Mark, perhaps you could also prepare some written resources for students to download. Especially for people who are trying to break away from sheet music reading into improvisation. Trust me that I have seen Grade 8 Classical Pianists struggling to play "Happy Birthday" when called upon to perform. Stuff like Dm = D-F-A. Csus2= C-D-E-G, otherwise the sheet music pianists will have a hard time learning this course. All the best!

I enjoyed some parts of this course - and I learned some from this. A friendly note to would be takers of this course, this course won’t teach you the nitty-gritty of music theory but rather some patterns or chord progressions that you can use to improve the style of your piano playing. If you want to learn the music theory in length and understand them deeply, this may not be the right course for you.

Every lesson is worth knowing and Sir Mark is really patient and passionate in teaching. Lessons are practical, useful and easy to comprehend and apply in the piano which cannot be learned when one is limited in relying on music sheets. He is an engaging instructor and I find myself learning something new and improving each day. This course is gold! This is exactly what I have been searching for and even more. Thank you Sir Mark for your genuineness and generosity in sharing and imparting your broad knowledge and skills in playing the piano.

The course is very good and worth your money and the instructor is very kind and responds within a short period of time. Everything in the course is very precise. But it would very nice if the instructor showed how to apply the techinques which were taught to different famous songs of different genres like jazz,pop,ballad etc and there should be certain videos which mentions warm-ups and practice methods as it is very useful for people who take this course as beginners. I can say that the course very well worth your money if you want to take your playing to next level.
