Course Description
In this course you will learn all the basics that is needed to start programming Allen Bradley PLCs using the Studio 5000 software. PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller which is used vastly in the industrial environments to automate any process. PLCs are used in any industry that you can think of, like automotive, pharmaceutical, food, aerospace, oil and gas and many more.
All the basics are covered in this course so there are no pre-requisites for you to start this course. After we cover all the programming elements needed you will be able to program simple projects from scratch.
We will have a sample real life project at the end of this course which will help you start programming by understanding the tricks and techniques that are used while developing programs from scratch.
Once you learn programming in Studio 5000 you will also be able to program in the older version of this software called RSLogix 5000 since the programming environment for both these software share many similarities.
Allen Bradley PLCs are vastly used in automation and specially in the North American market which is mostly dominated by this brand of PLC. So if you work for the North American market, you will benefit even more from this course.

This is an extremely thorough course which does an extremely good job of going over the use and function of the most commonly used Ladder Logic instructions in Studio 5000, as well as giving an in-depth overview and explanation of what the underlying tags that tie into those are and represent. The combination of these ideas allows someone who fully grasps the concepts presented to not only understand the function of the instructions being presented, but also gives the learner the building-blocks necessary to take the concepts further on their own, theorizing what other ways these instructions can be used and manipulated in order to produce code which functions as intended in a new situation. This course provides an extremely good foundation onto which more complex concepts and code can be more quickly and more completely understood. I highly recommend this course for beginners, as well as for those in industry taking their first steps into using an active PLC program as a tool in their troubleshooting process.

The course was very clear and well-structured. Everything was explained step by step, making it easy to follow. The explanations were clear, and the examples made the theory immediately applicable. Definitely recommend it!

I wish you can go slower and explain the very basic how to connect the PLC into the hardwares and also explain how to connect with the IP address, or how to communicate with them.

Unfortunately, I was not experienced enough to follow or understand some of this as well as I had hoped. Good for someone who has some experience already accessing this platform and an understanding of the data types etc. I found it difficult to stay engaged with it and hard to follow at times. But is good for someone already involved in programming.

Overall, the explanation and teaching were great. The explanation could have been better and detailed when it comes to the HVAC project. But you should definitely go for it if you want to clear the base regarding Studio 5000 software.

Excellent Course. I don't think the course is meant for beginnings who have no prior PLC programming knowledge or experience. It is however, great for someone who already has basic knowledge of PLC programming and is just new to the Studio 5000 environment. The explanations and examples utilizing various tags and data types was well covered.

Good introductory course. Went into enough detail that you will understand basic & commonly used functionality. Gave some good efficiency/programming style tips. Could have used some more open-ended examples to get the viewer thinking independently.

This course is an exact match for me, I like the structure of the course. It is designed very well. The instructor’s tone is very clear and he does not rush through so it is easy to follow
