Course Description

In this course you will learn the basics of TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal. From setting up a project to running a fully simulated mechatronics system, there will be practical programming and engineering tasks to help you learn about challenges when handling a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) project.

The project at hand is a simulated two-way conveyor system, that could be seen as an industrial escalator for transporting packages up and down between storage levels. A full task description will be given early on and is also available for download if you would like to challenge yourself. A professional solution to the task at hand will be developed starting at zero.

Many engineering and programming topics are covered and will be discussed to the necessary depth. All contents are covered in professional ways including using the corresponding industrial and programming standards.

As there are many more topics in the context of TIA we will discuss many important things as we learn the basics. Not everything will be covered in full depth from the beginning on, but that is the right way to approach the topic for beginner and intermediate level participants.

So, if you want to learn how to do things THE RIGHT WAY, you came to the correct place!

Corso molto base, mi aspettavo qualche nozione in più

As a beginner I have been struggling with deeply understanding how to program PLC, figuring out the reason behind carrying out a function, this module just 3 lectures into it am already confident am going to learn a lot and fully master PLC not to just scram. Waiting for your next content!

The instructor does a phenomenal job explaining all points in depth. He doesn't assume you know anything, which is great. He also spends an appropriate amount of time on discussion points. If it's simple- he spends just a bit of time on it. If it's complex, he will thoroughly talk through the point. So far, this is a great course!

I think this course is good for me, the instructor takes his time and explain all the small details and do not assume that the student knows. I like this approach because, I am the type of person that has to understand, "why and how" I do not memorize if I do not understand, therefore this approach is ideal for me.

The course is very good quality. I am very happy to have refreshed my knowledges. Three years ago, I followed the training course on the YT platform (Hegamurl), which included over 100 videos. The teacher is still a very good positive english instructor. I hope, one day, a new advanced lesson will be published. Thank you and see you soon :)

I recently completed the PLC Programming – Siemens TIA Portal course and found it extremely valuable for building a solid foundation in PLC and automation programming. The instructor, Philipp Paus, explains complex topics in a clear, structured, and professional way, making the course easy to follow even for beginners. The course covers the essentials very well—from setting up a TIA Portal project and configuring hardware to working with OBs, FBs, FCs, simulation, and basic HMI concepts. The practical examples and step-by-step approach help in understanding how PLC programming is applied in real industrial scenarios. The conveyor example in particular helps connect theory with practice. I would highly recommend this course to automation engineers, students, and beginners who want to learn PLC programming in a structured and logical way. It would be great if the instructor could add more advanced topics in the future (such as advanced programming patterns, diagnostics, safety concepts, or large-scale project structuring), as this would help learners progress further and deepen their PLC programming skills even more. Overall, an excellent and well-structured course. Thank you, Philipp!!!

One of the best automation software course I've taken so far. 1. The example is good for hands-on practice to get familiar with the interfaces and features. 2. The instructor arranges the topics with right amount of duration, the explanations are clear. Can't wait to see the next course from Philipp, well done and thank you!

This course is very interesting, even for those already working with TIA Portal. It provides new insights that I didn't know before and that can improve my future projects. The instructor's teaching style is excellent, and the content is very well structured and easy to follow. The project example the instructor provided couldn't be better.

The course is really great explaining clearly the basics which are actually the essentials to program the PLC in a structured way using FB's , FC's, DB's and OB's. I used to get confuse before about using the local and global variables and after taking this training it is very clear now. Thanks Philipp (Hegamurl) for this wonderful training!
