PowerPoint Masterclass - Presentation Design & Animation (Udemy.com)

Microsoft PowerPoint presentation slides and animation. Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 2019 2021 and 365 beginner to expert!

Created by: Andrew Pach

Last updated September 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 7,539 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in September 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

Andrew Pach is a working motion designer, and the course leans on that. It is about making PowerPoint slides look designed and move well: slide design, animation, kinetic typography, templates and exporting videos. The syllabus shows 154 lectures in 23 short sections, about 10 hours in total, and the course was refreshed in September 2026. Other sections cover Microsoft Copilot, Zoom and Morph, charts, photo editing and accessibility. It is aimed at people who already open PowerPoint and want slides that stop looking like the default.

Students mostly praise the teaching. Reviewers call the explanations easy to follow, and several say they picked up tricks they did not know. One liked that Andrew borrows animation ideas from professional design tools and rebuilds them inside PowerPoint. The numbers back this up: about 62 percent of the 7,539 ratings are five stars, and under 2 percent are one or two. Complaints are small. One reviewer heard audio dropouts and a frozen picture, and an older review wanted more depth on zoom and morph, which the syllabus lists as a section of about 40 minutes.

At around 10 hours, it covers a lot of ground quickly, so lectures are brief and some topics get only a few minutes. That suits anyone who wants fast, practical tricks. It suits less well anyone hunting for deep theory on a single topic. With nearly 42,000 students, the format clearly works for many people. We would point animation-curious PowerPoint users here first, and send anyone after presentation skills or data storytelling somewhere else.

Best forPeople who already use PowerPoint and want designed, animated slides, reusable templates or explainer videos.
Skip it ifYou want presentation storytelling or public speaking help, since this is about visual design and animation.

Pros

  • Reviewers call the explanations clear and easy to follow along with
  • Covers animation, kinetic typography, templates and video export, not just static slides
  • Sections on Copilot, Zoom and Morph, charts and accessibility; last updated September 2026
  • Reviewers at different levels say they learned tricks they did not know before

Cons

  • About 10 hours across 154 lectures, so some topics get only a few minutes each
  • One reviewer reported audio dropouts and a frozen picture in some lectures
  • An older review wanted more depth on zoom and morph; the syllabus lists a 39-minute section on both
Excellent course and very well explained. Andrew makes PowerPoint so easy to understand and follow along

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

I'm a total beginner in PowerPoint, is this course right for me?

This course will teach you all the necessary basics and advanced tools, but it's not PowerPoint 101 for beginners. I mention basic tools and techniques, but I assume that you are computer savvy and know how to find your way around PowerPoint already.

I'm enrolled in your Master PowerPoint Presentations course. Should I get this one or is the other one enough? Which one is better?

Good Question! Both courses are top PowerPoint courses that teach you the knowledge and tools to create outstanding presentations, animations, and templates. They are just two different versions that use different slides and unique content respectively. The benefit of that is you can follow a different design path on each course. Students who finished the first master course were asking me for more, and I'm happy to provide more if there is demand for it. If you already feel extremely comfortable with PowerPoint, one course is enough. But if you seek even more design ideas and slides, and if you like my content and the way I teach, you won't go wrong by taking both courses.
With both courses, you can reach a similar level of PPT knowledge, but in different ways and different designs. Each of those two courses has several unique sections that allow them to expand their knowledge in their own way.

I've been using PowerPoint for 15+ years and think I know the most already, will I learn anything?

I'm an experienced PowerPoint instructor with over 250 YouTube tutorials and more than 10 published PowerPoint courses and series. Over the past few years, I have learned from both beginner and advanced students which areas to address to best influence your workflow in a positive and impactful way. My courses help you to boost your efficiency, using shortcuts and on-trend designs to help you reach a modern, top-level standard of quality. If you need something that is not already in the course, you can always ask me about topics to add to courses that interest you.

I'm still not sure if I want to invest in this course. I don't know if I want to focus on design or on animation. Is there any fall-back plan?

Of course! First, you should watch the promo videos and watch the free preview lessons. They will give you a good understanding of the course content, pace, and what to expect from taking the course. Apart from that, you have Udemy’s 30-day Money Back Guarantee with no questions asked!

Instructor Details

Andrew Pach

Hi! My name is Andrzej Pach (but Andrew is easier to say ^^) and I spend my daily time with graphic design, presentations, motion & animation, typography, video editing, and online teaching. Most of my work is done in Adobe After Effects & Microsoft PowerPoint 2019 / 2021 / 365 and Camtasia so naturally, this is the software I want to teach about and share my experience with. I have completed more than 5000 graphic projects for clients, mostly including video animations like intros, outros, and transitions for various YouTube channels & marketers. On Fiverr alone (a freelancing website), I have more than 3500 reviews and 4k+ finished jobs. I would like to share with you the knowledge that I was able to "stack up" during the process. I am always willing to help people out by enhancing their brands and projects.

  Who am I?

I'm born in 1989, live in a small village in Poland, and graduated from my University in July 2014. A few years back, when I tried to find my "place" after getting hired to prepare a website, flyer, and business card for a local business in my area, I finally "felt it". Since then (2011) I have expanded my skills in this area by completing various graphic, website, and design-related projects. Places like the Warrior Forum, freelancing websites, and graphic contests across the web caught my interest and never let me go. I run my own company since April 2015.

While this course does start with a few basics that might be unnecessary for more experienced users, the training segments are short and lessons you may not need could be easily skipped. I especially loved how practical and comprehensive this training course was. I have been using PPT for years but learned so many new ways to create amazing slide designs and animations. The trainer was extremely knowledgeable, and his steps were easy to follow and duplicate. My only recommendation to the instructor would be to remove some redundant training content toward the end (it's not much!) and double check sequence of instruction where updates have been made to the course.

Instructor is very experienced in Design and Powerpoint. He also has good knowledge with the various versions of PowerPoint. The course gave me very good foundation of the various tools that can be really useful in doing up my presentations, as well as when using slides done up by other designers. I'll recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about PowerPoint design.

HURRA! :) I found the course well designed and very structured. I was able to follow the explanations well, even though I use a German PowerPoint 365 on the Mac. (Unfortunately, there are some differences between the Mac and PC versions, both visually and in terms of content, right down to some functions that are unfortunately not available at all for the Mac. But that was clear before. It would have been ideal to get a hint at the relevant points and not have to google where the function is hidden in the Mac version. But that would be difficult for the teacher to do if you use the PC version. So this is not meant as criticism, but rather to prepare other Mac users). All my questions were answered promptly, which was also very helpful. Thank you very much Andrew, I feel very familiar with PowerPoint!

It was an awesome course! The instructor Andrew is not only an expert in PowerPoint but also a great instructor. He explains and demonstrates each step in a way that even a beginner can follow along. When I got stuck at times, I asked questions and he always responded quickly, kindly, and in detail. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn how to create a polished PowerPoint presentation.

I had used PowerPoint for over 20 years prior to taking this course and thought I was fairly proficient. However, this course helped me identify significant knowledge gaps, particularly when it come to graphic design. The instruction was well organized and incremental. It focused on specific concepts and reinforced learning with examples and practical exercises. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their presentation authoring skills.
