SAMPLE QUESTION:

Which of the following are valid model customization methods for Amazon Bedrock? (Select two)

1. Continued Pre-training

2. Fine-tuning

3. Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)

4. Zero-shot prompting

5. Chain-of-thought prompting

What's your guess? Scroll below for the answer.

Correct: 1,2

Explanation:

Correct options:

Model customization involves further training and changing the weights of the model to enhance its performance. You can use continued pre-training or fine-tuning for model customization in Amazon Bedrock.

Continued Pre-training

In the continued pre-training process,  you provide unlabeled data to pre-train a foundation model by familiarizing it with certain types of inputs. You can provide data from specific topics to expose a model to those areas. The Continued Pre-training process will tweak the model parameters to accommodate the input data and improve its domain knowledge.

For example, you can train a model with private data, such as business documents, that are not publicly available for training large language models. Additionally, you can continue to improve the model by retraining the model with more unlabeled data as it becomes available.

Fine-tuning

While fine-tuning a model, you provide labeled data to train a model to improve performance on specific tasks. By providing a training dataset of labeled examples, the model learns to associate what types of outputs should be generated for certain types of inputs. The model parameters are adjusted in the process and the model's performance is improved for the tasks represented by the training dataset.

Incorrect options:

Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)

Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) allows you to customize a model’s responses when you want the model to consider new knowledge or up-to-date information. When your data changes frequently, like inventory or pricing, it’s not practical to fine-tune and update the model while it’s serving user queries. To equip the FM with up-to-date proprietary information, organizations turn to RAG, a technique that involves fetching data from company data sources and enriching the prompt with that data to deliver more relevant and accurate responses. RAG is not a model customization method.

Zero-shot prompting

Chain-of-thought prompting

Prompt engineering is the practice of carefully designing prompts to efficiently tap into the capabilities of FMs. It involves the use of prompts, which are short pieces of text that guide the model to generate more accurate and relevant responses. With prompt engineering, you can improve the performance of FMs and make them more effective for a variety of applications. Prompt engineering has techniques such as zero-shot and few-shot prompting, which rapidly adapts FMs to new tasks with just a few examples, and chain-of-thought prompting, which breaks down complex reasoning into intermediate steps.

Prompt engineering is not a model customization method. Therefore, both these options are incorrect.

I have just passed the exam. Very good course. Although some topics which are not covered in depth came into the exam, it was a little bit difficult. Nevertheless, this course played an important role in my prep. Thank Stephane for great content and presentation.

Decent, a few details missing hence had to use some external cheatsheet sources which I find are super useful summary after this course, before exam. A few details missing in this course that are included in those cheatsheets. and those cheatsheets have good categories, side by side comparisons, and bare minimum need to know for each thing straight up.

I'm a Learning Designer by trade and a digital native. I studied the Udemy course + practice exams for 4 days and passed! It is possible, but the normal timeframe is a-lot safer if you aren't a seasoned studier or aren't IT oriented. Pro tip: memorise the random Amazon Nova bits - they came up and aren't in the course!

This is an excellent exam practice plan which will get you over the line. The pre-requisite is, you should take either the AWS Free Course for AIF01 or similar courses in UDEMY to ensure that you are thorough with the basic concepts. I just passed the exam today and this practice helped a lot.

I studied AI certification before so got basic understanding about ML and AI covered. For AI practitioner, I just did these tests, noted down AWS AI services that I don't know. My tests' scores are around 75-80% consistently. I managed to pass the test within 2-3 days revision, but I wished I could have more time to learn more thoroughly as it's a good revision of AI fundamentals. There are few services I missed during the real tests that are not covered here, but was able to guess the right answer. Overall, the difficulty is pretty much same. These tests train a good habit of skimming the questions quickly as they have longer answers.

Decent course but a few issues. 1. Questions often have an irrelevant preamble with the actual question written like "Preamble" + "Now explain the difference between X +Y" where answers are entirely removed from the preamble content. 2. Correct answers are often the most detailed of the four. 3. Several of the answers are arguably incorrect. This reinforces learning the correct Udemy responses, not the correct information.

The practice test questions and explanations were very helpful. There were clear explanations and the practice questions are similar to what I encountered on the actual exam. This course, plus the related prep course, were very helpful in enabling me to pass the exam! PRO-TIP: One thing that really helped me reinforce learnings was going through every question and answer after completing the exams. I did this to ensure I understood the concepts, services, approach, etc. mentioned. If I wasn't familiar with the item, I documented it with paper and pen to help reinforce the concept. Hope this makes sense!

Great study material. I passed my test yesterday using all 4 of the practice exams after completing the course material. I will say that there was some topics that was not covered or talked about that showed up on the exam, but nonetheless, this course helped me understand concepts and I was able to get through. Thanks!

By Barabaka on 5/26/2026

Pretty much sufficient to pass exam. Questions here sometimes overcomplicated or a bit confusing, however in every case there si a good expalanation of correct and wrong answers. So I did an exercise twice, and after having here 95-97% of correct answers in this test I passed an exam successfully.

By Nick Stewart on 4/29/2026

Some questions were inaccurate with modern tools in my perspective. Q can use different models - I change the model Q developer uses all the time. This might be a newer feature than this exam. Also the question regarding the company fine-tuning doesn't have a clear ask that makes the answer clear. The question assumes I assume the company successfully fine-tuned and is ready to inference the model - in which provisioned throughput is the answer. But I chose the bedrock playground answer b/c I was assuming the question was asking about what can be used for fine-tuning. The question needs to be more direct if possible.
