Lots of information clearly presented and easily accessible. The workbook is a great tool to refer back to to remind me of key elements. I liked the exercise suggestions provided for client work to aid in their recovery.

La información del PDF es MUY buena. Los videos son una introducción al PDF pero no aportan más al texto. El puro PDF sería suficiente, aunque en ese caso podría haber leído el documento o un libro y no tomado el curso. Las tareas y ejercicios son muy útiles (también vienen en el PDF). Me quedan algunas tareas por hacer y enviar a la maestra y ella dará otro diploma. En realidad calcular el curso para cubrirlo en 1 hora es irreal; eso es la duración del total de videos, pero el trabajo real está en la lectura y en los ejercicios y tareas. Por lo tanto, que el diploma diga una hora de curso, es desalentador porque pareciera que solo escuché una conferencia de una hora y no que tomé un curso con tareas y actividades. Por lo demás, el contenido del documento es muy bueno y útil.

I highly recommend this course, it is of a very high standard. Dr Karen E Wells has covered everything you need to know and so much more. I found it to be very interesting and very informative and of great value and benefit.

Useful information, however, the videos are basically saying read the manual and I found the scrolling on the videos distracting. Would much prefer selected bullet points on a Powerpoint for example.

I really enjoyed this course and it is a great addition to the experience I have working with clients that have experienced sexual abuse.. I have done a few of Karen's courses and they are easy to follow.

Thank you. It's a good course and covers the basics of sexual abuse counseling. What's great about it? The fact that; as a counselor, if you just stuck to the points taught herein without ever being involved with sexual abuse, or counseling with people about sex you will do well.

I did enjoy the subject matter, but i felt the presentation and lectures could be more detailed. The course does offer what a therapist can do with the client, such as addressing anger, but it doesn't offer specifics on how to address anger with survivors of sexual abuse and assault.

This was definitely a match for me and I appreciated the exercises given to students, and time to submit a Final Assessment. The accompanying workbook has a lot of good information to use as a resource as well. It would be nice if there were a more extensive training for counselors on this subject. I think it would be best to have more than an hour's worth of video on this topic that is extensive and requires so much understanding of how sexual abuse affects clients and how to approach various situations in a way that best support clients. For example, helping clients through the emergency stage, especially when that involves suicidal ideation and any suicide threats and actions taken. Thank you for doing this work to help aid counselors in becoming more familiar with this topic and how to approach it in therapy.
