The course gives a good overview on the tooling around python development. That is really helpful and well explained. Of course, the presenter can not demonstrate each and every setting of each tool so it is more of an overview really. A few exercises would be nice so that I would have been able to work with the tools a bit more and work through the documentation.

This was an excellent course, which was well organized and covered advanced Python project concepts. The examples provided were applicable for deploying in a production environment and demonstrated best practices. There are many beginner Python courses, but this one is one of the few courses which will help take your Python coding skills to the next level.

Most python courses I found are for beginners or advanced courses related to ML. It's nice to have an intermediate course over topics of python. There isn't too much content in this space. It will really help me get python tools setup at my work.

The course “Python: Coding Guidelines, Tools, Tests and Packages” does indeed touch all these topics and gives very good introductions for each of them. It helped me to understand the differences between some of the linter tools, how to improve the structure of my python projects or improve code documentation by using Typing. The teacher explains everything very well and the course content itself is brief but sufficient. I have also learnt some new VSCode extensions which are really useful. Finishing this course does not make me an expert in any of the topics but it definitely helped me to find out what should be improved in my own projects. One topic I missed in the course though is Poetry?

By the end, I was very happy with what I got. At first it was not clear how important the VS IDE was. I realized commands were run in a console, so they can be run independently. This point could be made more clear. Should not force people to adopt unnecessary tools. I was amazed by the final capability these tools provide. Now to find out whether I can apply them. But I have a template!!

Very well-structured course. I'm coming with prior programming experience, but without a formal software development background, and this course highlighted a lot of tools that make life easier, code cleaner, and headaches spared. All in all, well done! I've already recommended it to a couple co-workers who I think will benefit as well.

"Python: Coding Guidelines, Tools, Tests and Packages" is a great course for people interested in writing clean code, testable code and professional python code. I enjoyed the hand-on approach with clear explanation. One are of suggestion is to add more videos on CI/CD (I know this is beyond the course scope). Overall, great recommended!

A very good introductory course to many important aspects of python development. The instructor always give clear explanations and seems to really have a lot of experience with all the concepts discussed in the course. That being said, I felt like the content gets a little bit rushed towards the end of the course. Especially in the lesson about GitHub Workflows and CI. It seems that this lesson could be split in 3 lessons. Other than that, I have a strong feeling that the course quality would benefit a lot with the addition of a small "real-world" project quickly covering all concepts presented in this course. The instructor could find a simple real case scenario and select only his preferred tools to build a python package from scratch.

Great course for those who want to learn about TDD or many pertinent Testing Tools in Python Development industry. Jan explains very in depth a lot of techniques and approaches when testing code, student can pick what is more suitable for his/her dev environment. VS Code settings is a BIG Plus even thou is not the main goal of the course. In my opinion, proper settings are the key for a comfortable development and ease of success achievement in any project. The only reason I am not rating 100% is not for the English it self (everything is pretty clear from language perspective), hence for a bit harsh accent during the lessons. If Udemy could rate a 99% , then I would 100% rate it as 99% a Must see Python Coding Guidelines, Tooling and TDD Course. Thanks a lot for your contribution Jan! Keep it up and make more great courses like this one!

This course is very good (I am not a pro at software engineering), and helped me to develop my own Package for my thesis. As a feedback I will only say, that the section on tox must be included, and also may be a demostration of CI/CD with pipy publish, but I think the concepts give enought understanding to try by yourself. You would not regret buying this course.
