Course Description
Course description:
The course will show you the most important features of TypeScript. In the beginning, we will install and set up the required software together. After that, we will start with the basics and work our way up to classes and inheritance. You are also welcome to watch the public videos of the course to get a taste of it.
What is TypeScript?
If you haven’t heard of TypeScript yet, it’s a language that builds on JavaScript by adding syntax for static types. Tools like the TypeScript compiler just erase those types, leaving you with clean readable JavaScript that you can run anywhere; but those types are there to be type-checked! Types make your intentions explicit, and tools can read and understand them to catch errors before you even run your code. By checking your types, TypeScript can catch errors like typos, logic errors, and more! Beyond catching errors, TypeScript also uses types to power editor toolings like accurate code completion, go-to-definition, and renaming.
The course has the following topics
Installation of TypeScript, NodeJS, and VSCode
Type Annotations for Number, String, Boolean, Arrays, Tuples, etc.
Functions, Interfaces, and Classes
Inheritance and Abstract Classes
Importing/exporting from Modules
Utility types, keyof, instanceof, and type guards
Become a professional today, in the technology of tomorrow!
See you in class!

Doesn't really explain what things are along the way , especially in the setup process. If you have never learnt TS, I dont think this course is for you, but if you know TS you just forgot how to use it, I think this might be ok for you to refresh your memory. I gave up watching it and learnt it on Youtube, as I have never learnt TS before.

Great Course! covered most of the features. It's not for someone who is picking up ts as their first language. You need to have knowledge of some programming language and basic OOPS. Coming from python and c++, it was a really good course to get familiar with the syntax and new concepts for my next project.

This was super useful, fast but clear and explicative. I needed it for my internship, I've been suddently asked to switch from vanilla JS to Typescript. Most useful thing: the GitHub repo, very well organized!

Jan does a great job of teaching this course in a very simple and easy to understand manner. This is a great course for those who want to learn the essentials of Typescript quickly. Thank you Jan!

Fast paced and probably better for experienced JS developers or TS developers. Plenty of examples to code along with. Probably should have a quiz at the end or something like that. Good pace, no fluff. Might be getting a bit out of date, but probably still good for a flash review.

I could have given 5 stars because the instructor is perfect, but the videos of the first section that cover how to install VSCode and Node.js etc, they don't launch at all. I had to skip them, and go straight to section number 2 unfortunately.

The main reason why typescript was created is covered very well but the series is perfect for people who have programming knowledge already, especially if they know Javascript and any OOP language; also I think you were dwelling more on how to implement concepts rather than why/when to apply them...

I worked through each lecture and found this course very helpful as a refresher course for JavaScript. It is very well organized and to the point. I can see myself leveraging the projects as reference for my future work. Thank you Jan for your efforts putting this course together! Well done.

I really liked this course a lot! It's very well explained and it goes through so many useful things. I learned a lot in chapter 2 and 3. As a test automation engineer who wants to learn more typescript it was very helpful. I did skip chapter 4 because it was not necessary for me. but Nevertheless 5 stars

I came here as a senior C# developer and that course gave me a perfect and neat overview, so I could get started with TypeScript quite quickly. Very well done by Jan (as always).
