I thoroughly enjoyed this course and got a lot out of it. I didn't realize how much I would when I first got it! A few bits of advice for prospective students: 1. Get the PDF or the printed book. Seriously, no matter how much you paid for this course, you *need* the book. I bought the course and started it, but quickly stopped, because there was just so much to take in visually. I couldn't hack it. Fast forward a number of months, I got a FB advertisement for a piano course with a book. It seemed interesting and I thought "hey, I recognize that name!" I checked and it was indeed who I thought it was. In the ad he talked about the book. I went back to the course and found that several students mentioned the book in the forum. So I went to look for the book on Amazon and ended up getting the book on PDF, as it follows the course straight down the line. I think it's fabulous! Very happy with it. 2. Follow Ozie's advice on learning, but don't try to master everything before you go through the entire course. Watch it through once fully while you're working on the modules. It'll help motivate you and have some context for the exercises. The little interludes that he does at the start of the modules are great and something that you can go to work on! This an area where the book will come in so handy, as so many of them are included with keyboard diagrams. It's invaluable to picking it up. Bottom line: This is a well structured course and has a lot of benefit for those willing to do the work. It's definitely helped me and served as a source of inspiration. Thank you, Ozie! :-D

OMG, there is so much content in this course - I think it will last me a lifetime (I'm learning piano and music theory at the grand old age of 49). Everything is really well explained and I find Ozie mesmerising to watch and listen to. Not only is his playing gorgeous, but he has the most beautiful hands and rich, mellow speaking voice. The effect is slightly addictive - I've found myself binge-watching videos knowing I'm going to have to go back and review the material. Loving it.

I need to understand what I should done with each lesson. For example: Should I just play a scale over and over until I have it memorized? And what am I suppose to do with it or how am I going to use a scale. Also tonight I just moved on through the lessons to see where I am going and when I got to "What Is A Chord" which I am very interested in. It stopped working. No video. Nothing. It's stuck. So I'm not too pleased at this point. I can learn to do anything once I understand what I am suppose to be doing. But the teacher just goes too fast

Learn to make music. Not just feel good, or get the applause of people. You will really learn what you need to know to make music. Real music is what this instructor is all about. He knows how to get your there! Enjoyable to learn from, engaging and cheerful. I could not recommend this course enough. Read Ozie's credentials. Enough said. He's the real deal. Thank you for making this course, Ozie!

He got me to really master the basics: major and minor scales, major and minor chords, seventh chords, hand positions, improvisation tips, and other fundamentals. I had tried to learn to play skipping these basics previously and hadn't achieved what I wanted. Ozie emphasized the importance of the basics I mustn't skip and showed me what I needed to learn to play off of lead sheets and improvise. In other words, play by ear and enjoy it. He gave me the piano vocabulary and put it under my fingers.

The course content is great and will allow you to become a proficient pianist. however some parts of the course are taken at much too higher a pace where the information is fairly complex like on the chord progressions in the last half of the section. I still recommend this course if like me you get stuck on the usual teacher lesson courses.

A tremendous amount of time was spent learning the scales instead of simply giving the formula for finding each scale. Not enough time spent on teaching songs and the execution thereof. I took along time for me to generate enough focus to continue. It was really boring...

This is what I was looking for, I think the only piano lessons on Udemy with rigorous scale training and spiced out with good music theory. I feel so fortunate and appreciative to have Mr. Cargile as a ”private” teacher. He is a clearly my type of guy and very generous in discussions, thanks! This course is my recommendation for every one who wants to learn piano and as a intermediate piano player and jazz drummer I am.

The teacher is knowledgeable, but I found the course monotonous. The camera is trained on teacher’s hands and he uses a lap size whiteboard when he needs an illustration. He starts each lecture playing, which he does well. He then goes through many scales and chords without much variation in method. Position never moves. I couldn’t hang on to his style. If I had paid more for it, I would be asking for my money back. Not motivating to me, but it is a good reference dictionary. Another person might love this presentation style. Very disappointed.

I began this course because I couldn't pass up the promotion and I wanted to learn more about the piano. At first I thought this was just an ok course because I didn't think I'd like learning those boring scales. But Ozzie made them very interesting and I'm pleasantly surprised that I actually like them. I'm Just now getting to the chords portion and looking forward to these as well. The quality of the info and instruction is very good and though sometimes he may seem to go through the material quickly, I found that if I get lost and rewind some parts, I can learn what I need and that helps with the following lessons. I like the questions others give in the comments section and his answers there are really detailed and helpful. Glad I signed up.
