My knowledge of academic research was basic. The other courses I tried were too theoretical, but this one is different. The instructor starts from the beginning and builds step by step. I really like how practical and easy to follow the course is.

“I found this course session to be clear, informative, and helpful in understanding key research concepts like literature reviews, research design, and data collection methods. The explanations were concise and easy to follow. Overall, I would rate this session 4.5 out of 5.”

That is a very clear introduction to research and research concepts. The explanations are simple and digestible. I appreciate how the instructor breaks down complex ideas into understandable components. The examples help reinforce key points about developing research questions, methodology, data analysis, and drawing conclusions.

Quality of the content is very good and explained very well. Maybe if you could add the following topics, it would feel more complete - Conceptual Framework, Operationalization - Data Analysis (Descriptive, Corelation, Coefficient, Null/Alt Hypothesis Analysis) Thanks again. Enjoyed this course and it was very useful

As part of my journey in preparing a research proposal for my master's degree, this is the best and most comprehensive course content that helped me understand the topic and its objectives. Thank you. I will reference it in my report.

Completed 35% of the course and currently I can say that the course is more for users writing a research article. I am a working professional and I am more keen to learn about how to conduct a research. Updated review: 3.5/5 (Good) Completed the course today and I can say that it is a good course. The instructor has knowledge on the subject BUT the one thing which is missing is practical examples. If there is one lecture on how a research was done in a firm or outside, and how a good analysis was done on that, that will be a complete course.

Great course! It really helped me to recap and systematize the previous knowledge. Thanks to this course and the used methodology, I was able to move on with the research method chapter in my thesis. Even though, this course is designed for business students, I would say it's very universal and you can take it if you are not one of them.

The course is targeted according to the instructor to research conducted at undergraduate or Master levels. Let me start with the good aspects and then mention the critical aspects that needs improvements. The course provide some knowledge on research methods. I liked the sampling module and module 5 more than the other parts. I believe it is not enough on its own, to get a good grasp of the material you still need to read a textbook on the topic (I suggested later two) The course has many problems hopefully they could be addressed. Constructive Criticism of the course: module 2 Literature Review (LR) is too primitive, under-emphasised and wrong in some aspects and there is no mention of the term "critical" in all the videos covering the topic. Any literature review a.k.a related work a.k.a germane work that is not "critical" is not a literature review at all, it is a laundry list (please check classical books of Saunders et al & Bell and Bryman Book). As a reviewers of many papers I always reject a paper with a weak literature review or a shopping list LR. The literature review is extremely important because a weak "critical literature review" means literally for a paper reviewer or examiner a weak research. It is considered in the literature as the litmus test of any thesis or dissertation. There are two types of LRs: the first is called provisional literature review which is the one you do in the beginning of your research journey in order to discover research gaps in the literature and it helps you to formulate your research questions and there is the critical literature review you end up having as a chapter in your undergraduate research honours project, Master dissertation or PhD thesis which aim to situate your work in the literature and provides a rationale of the work (what gaps are you filling, why as an examiner I should care?). Many scholars calls an LR as a "defense chapter". The module of LR is primitive also in the sense of teaching a wrong way of doing a literature review on a systematic level. I mean it is good to mention the usage of bibliographic software such as Endnote, Mendeley or Zotero, who is still do things manually? or usage of BibTex/LaTeX instead of citing primitively and manually and there are different techniques to do a literature using a cone structure, using patch pattern structure etc... There are whole books written on the topic for the avid learner. In addition, you have what is dubbed as meta-analysis and systematic literature review which is a whole new dimension. There are differences that students should know (at all levels) between a research philosophy/stance, research methodology, research method(s) and research instrument or procedure. All these terms means different thing and the research onion is and should be taught from the outer layer to inward (all layers are equally important for all levels of research and all layers influence each others). There are many problems in the course with videos quality: some videos are "jittery". Kindly a re-upload is needed (after all it is not a free course so people are paying actual money) - I have been told by the instructor that it is a Udemy problem so I will contact them and see what is the issue. Research philosophies are important at a Master and at an undergraduate level and this is not my opinion it is the opinion of all scholars writing textbooks of research methods in Business such as Saunders et al. who is even teaching them for a research module at an undergraduate level for undergraduate and postgraduate research (please read the book for more details) I advise students to get familiar with the most famous two books on the topic instead of this course at least if it remains in this form: 1) Business Research Methods by Emma Bell, Alan Bryman and Bill Harley 2) Research Methods for Business Students by Saunders et al. People buy an online video course instead of reading a complete book for a reason and which is achieving "the purpose of convenience and speed" so a research methods online video course should be at least at a good quality mimicking the classical books on the topic. A funny thing in one of the videos is using the research onion diagram taken verbatim from the famous Saunders et al. book. I am only being critical in the spirit of improving the course since students are buying an online course that supposedly should covers what they need in comparison with reading the classical books.

The course started well for me the introduction to Research was great but I didn't get a much as the course progressed not enough practical examples or exercises but I also didn't engage with the instructor that was my fault. But all in all, it was good for a beginner and it really helped me with my Research Proposal. Keep doing what you doing it's helping a lot of us who are studying via Long Distance Education Really appreciate what you doing. Thanks

I found the course very helpful about understanding what research is and its nature, approach, design and strategy. Robert is a talented teacher who makes everything so easy to understand. I always watched your free courses, but the paid one is even better.
