This is a 5.5 hour course from Tejasvi Hegde on building an API test framework with Serenity BDD and Rest Assured. It has 39 lectures in 16 sections, and covers a sample student app, CRUD tests, reusable steps, data-driven tests, parallel runs, tags, Git, Jenkins and Cucumber. The requirements are real: Java basics, REST knowledge and some Rest Assured. Despite the All Levels label, it is aimed at QA engineers and SDETs who want to pick up Serenity quickly, not at beginners.

Happy reviewers call it straightforward and to the point, with few slides and clear explanations. A few say it works well as a refresher or a kick-start. The complaints are consistent among the lower ratings. Examples are called too simple, and the course has no quizzes or coding exercises. The Cucumber section draws complaints too, with one reviewer saying WebDriver and page objects are missing. Others dislike the project layout and code style, and some say the instructor did not answer their questions.

The course was last updated in July 2023, and reviews from late 2023 and early 2024 say the versions are outdated. One reviewer called the Cucumber setup almost a nightmare of errors. Still, 643 of 818 ratings are four or five stars, and 5,661 students have enrolled. It makes sense if you already work in Java and want a map of Serenity before committing to it. For deep, current, real-project framework building, look elsewhere.

Although I have learned some new stuff, I expect the instructor to be more organized in terms of structuring the project. He should make the project the way that it can be used in real life. The project is absolutely useless. Based on Serenity, There should be two folders called "tests" and "steps". In his course step folder is under cucumber and test folder is under junit. Veru unorganized and confusing. I suggest he refers to Serenity page and do some research to learn how to structure a Serenity project before trying to provide such a course.

Terrible tutorial, doesn't explain the pom.xml at all, after following everything I could see while the instructor quickly scrolls through the pom.xml without explaining anything I had errors that I could not resolve.
