Rest API Testing using Robot Framework - Request Library (Udemy.com)

Creating the shown test cases on my own IDE is failing in the sense that, the API used in the cases are not returning proper values. This is what I got " .200 .b'{"status":"false","msg":"No data Found"}" although the test case is identical as shown on the slides. Maybe the API that we should use is down but then you should update the slides to match.

This course could use a different API library in case we want to have some negative test cases e.g. testing for API Endpoints with expectations of status code 400, 403 and 404 (right now the default Robot Framework API Library returns an error if the status code is not 200-something). For that it is better to use ZoombaAPI Library for Robot Framework tests. This way the automated tests do not fail if the status code is anything other than 200-something. But other than that this is a good course and I recommend it.

Thanks for explaining the basics and laying the foundations for beginners. Feeling more confident on RF and REST API automation now. Rating it 4 as i felt it would have been better to include framework designing in course as well and a capstone project with it to give real time feel. Rest all is good !

Nice course for beginners to get a good Start/understanding of Robot framework

Feels somewhat fragmented and the lecturer often skips around during explanations too quickly without fully explaining his actions. Also, this is purely subjective but I find that the combination of the lecturer's accent and fast talking rate can be difficult to understand at times even when slowed down and using subtitles ( the subtitles are comicly incorrect at times ). Other than that, the course content is good and is generally well explained.

Only things i have learnt from this course is jsonPath, rest of the things are covered pretty OK There could be some improvements like when we add our libraries we can have some thing like reading json file and returning the data or some methods under json can be mentioned as methods and exploited under key words With respect to set up and tear down, we can use create connection as set up and tear down for deleting the session cache Overall, course is OK

Verbose and repetitive. There is a dearth of good training for API testing with Robot Framework. Therefore I was eager to get this course when I saw it on Udemy. Unfortunately the course is too long and less than 1 hour of it is really useful.
