I haven't picked up a guitar in 21 years, but I have been toying around with the idea of trying to relearn. The instructor was brief, concise, knowledgeable, articulate, and seemed he would have a lot pf patience with his in person students. This class was just the right amount of information for me to get me back on track with the basics.

I will admire anyone who tries and teach but I truly don't know who this course is aimed at. I think he spends 3 minutes on the caged system. I am still learning that a year on. He talks about his gear. In my opinion he should of showed us his gear and did examples to hear. The course is laking compared to other rhythm courses as he really dosen't demostrate techniques for the beginner, who I think he has tried to gear this course for. In fact he doesn't even provide different rhythms to practice or how to practice that.

He goes immediately into detail about sound, which is one of the basic things everyone needs to know, (and in my experience not many even cover especially in the beginning of the course) if they ever want to play with other musicians or even to enjoy what you're playing anytime you're practicing as well. So many times i've played something and eventhough i do play with attitude and play the right chords and notes with feel, it doesn't SOUND right because sound is everything and needs to be studied. Just like in Filmmaking, if the sound is no good, the film will seem amateurish.

Very detailed with the explanation of the course information. The instructor is very knowledgeable and easy to understand what he is saying. I have learned some new approaches and will apply these to my playing. I'm glad that I ended up choosing this course, thanks.

First impressions. Good. I liked the discussion of guitar tones and effects which I have not found in other similar courses. I think that section could have been a bit longer with visuals on the pedals and tuning them. In general the video clips are very short. It would have been better if they were longer and could give more depth and instruction.

I'm a lifetime UGS member. This seems to be a great supplement to what Erich teaches, as he tends to be more blues-centric (I don't have the blues - I want to rock!). I also enjoy the different perspective Jeff applies to learning guitar. 4 stars for now, since I've only finished 4 lessons.

This course covers a lot of rock rhythm ideas and techniques. Jeff has a clear, concise teaching style and tabs are provided to show exactly what Jeff plays. I found that applying the lessons to my own playing was more challenging than I expected and plan to go over several of the lessons again. Overall, found this to be a very good course!

Great course! I learned SO much about chord shapes and inversions, not to mention getting the right tone, constructing riffs and more. I’m looking forward to your next course! (And the rig rundown was super helpful :-)

This course was exactly what I was hoping it would be! It's NOT for the brand new rank beginner. It's prefect for those aspiring Rock players like myself who have been playing for a little bit and are in that weird spot moving from beginner to intermediate. I know about the CAGED system, what a Power Chord is, how the fretboard is laid out and why the shapes keep repeating themselves over and over. What I needed was a summary of creative ways to apply that technical knowledge. This course was perfect for that! Loved it!

As someone who ha studies for about two years -- I am now 64 BTW -- I find the course is ideal for me. Luke does an excellent job at explaining things, having just the right amount of theory. Luke provides a solid foundation of rhythms, chords, and riffs that I am immediately applying to backing tracks. I highly recommend this course.
