Course Description

This course is for the beginner who wants to learn how to code without getting overwhelmed by technical jargon and computer science topics. Rust Programming For Beginners is specifically designed to teach the core programming concepts necessary to get started building applications while also providing a solid foundation for future learning.

The best way to learn programming is to write engaging and interesting programs. This course features 30 coding exercises to complement the lectures, and are designed with real-world applications in mind. Each exercise presents a problem with hints on how to implement a solution, so you can get the practice you need to be successful. The exercises are accompanied with a video demonstrating a possible implementation for the exercise, and line-by-line commentary on how the code accomplishes the task and why it works.

The information in this course is introduced in a thoughtful order, which means you will always be aware of what every bit of code in a program is doing, and how it works the way it does. There is no need to wait until later in the course, or to study more advanced topics, in order to fully understand the code when presented. This is accomplished by building up knowledge through concise, easy to follow lectures that can be reviewed quickly.

In this course, you will learn:

  • Critical concepts necessary to work with code, without overwhelming detail

  • Creation of digital solutions for real-world problems

  • Reading and writing application code in the Rust programming language

  • Utilization of the Rust ecosystem to efficiently develop applications

  • Automated testing to enhance the reliability of your solutions

  • How to make your projects easier to work with through the use of generated documentation

  • Foundational computer science topics such as computer memory, program logic, and simple data structures

This course isn't just for beginner programmers, but any programmer who wishes to learn Rust. If you have experience coding in a high level memory-managed language such as Python, JavaScript, or C#, then this course is a great introduction to the Rust programming language and it's unique memory model and syntax.

Thanks to the author for the effort put in creating this course. Is a very nice introduction to Rust and it was very useful for me. For a person who is already a developer the pace and explanations at times are a bit slow and the examples could go deeper, but I understand it's difficult (to not say impossible) to address different backgrounds, and still, even seasoned programmers will learn a lot. I recommend this course to my colleagues and anyone interested in learning Rust from the start.

A comprehensive, well-paced and beginner-friendly course which introduces a wide range of fundamental concepts and toolings in Rust programming. Can't really ask for more in a brief course like this. It is fantastic for those with the interest to learn Rust as it provides a solid foundation that allows one to further explore on their own. Brilliant course!

Awesome!! It was a great entry course for Rust, covered only the fundamentals of the language, no deep delving into complex and advanced Rust. All topics were delivered in a clear and understandable way and the instructor was awesome and responsive. I actually did learn a lot from this course. If you are an intermediate rust programmer, this course is not for you. The best part of it all, was the way he expalined topics, just (jumped straight to the point)

Great course, engaging teacher, well thought-out exercices, highly recommended. I hope there'll be a follow-up with more advanced topics. For a beginner hobbyist in Rust, the last project feels too hard though (some new concepts and many learned things to put together with limited guidance). Also, I stumbled onto the same course provided by Zero to Mastery, and it seems to be far more complete (double more content). I wished I had found and bought the complete one.

Started to learn Rust for developing on Solana Blockchain, Jayson sir has explained everything code line by line and it's quite easy to understand although some concepts are personally difficult for me to grasp. Great course. Also, I got the reply to one of my questions within a day. Thank you, and would love to see a course on Rust for Solana Development.

Exhaustive course, well explained, with a lot of exercises to practice. The course is designed for complete beginner in programming but Rust might not be the right language to start coding... Therefore I wish the course was designed for people who already know how to code in another language and so the course could focus more on the Rust concepts that differs from other programming languages and provide some comparison. Thanks

Great videos with clear and elaborate explanations. This compliments the official Rust Book in many ways. For beginners, it would be nice to have a lecture or two (or even a quick reference) of some best practices when dealing with ownership as it's a complicated topic. Looking forward to applying all of these concepts into a larger project!

Superb. I seen a fair bit of training in the last year on Rust. This one has an exceptional clear layout and lovely detailed descriptions on why certain code should be written that way. I have not seen a clearer description of my demons of last few months. Having written C most of my life, i had a tough time to get the flipping compiler to let me do my thing. I now understand what I did wrong.

This is an absolutely fantastic course! It's clear that Jayson has put a lot of time and energy into creating this amazing source of knowledge for beginning Rust developers. Very well-constructed, easy to follow, moves along at the right pace, clear explanations (and a lot of them) all the way - and with great audio quality. If you ever decide to create a follow up intermediate/advanced course, consider me a student. Thank you, this is high-quality, and I'll recommend it to everyone around me who wants to learn this language!

This course was excellent! I've worked professionally in Software Engineering for over a decade now and was skeptical at first that Rust would be a good first language, but the presentation style, demos, and activities were presented so clearly that I'm now a believer. I was super impressed at how much could be accomplished without ever having to dig into Lifetimes. Finally, most Rust video courses are simply someone going through The Book and rehashing that content in video form, this course had original content and practical project examples. Please, please, please do an Intermediate follow up course!
