SAS Programming BASE Certification Course for SAS Beginners (Udemy.com)

I was planning to attempt the A001-231 SAS certification and selected this course for my studies. The course encompassed nearly 95% of the exam topics, with Sharon also covering some additional subjects. For those preparing for the A001-A231 certification, I would suggest this course in conjunction with the 'SAS certified Specialist prep guide' and practical exercises. At the conclusion of your studies, you can take the 'Practice exams' offered by SAS for free to ensure you strengthen any areas of weakness. Ultimately, I passed the exam on my first try.

This course is very thorough and does a great job covering basically everything you need to pass the base certification. There is even topics like arrays, SQL and macros that go beyond what SAS expects a base certified programmer to learn. If you find it difficult to learn by reading the base-guide through SAS, I highly recommend checking out this series. One thing I would add is a bit more on DO loops, specifically nested do loops.

This course is SO MUCH BETTER than some of my required courses in my masters' degree in just explaining the PROC statements. There is no need to overcomplicate it; just learn the fundamentals THE RIGHT WAY. Would recommend this course to ANYONE interested in SAS

It has been a good experience so far.

The material and the exercises are of good level and you can tell a lot of effort has been put in the course. However there are some things that could be very confusing for real beginners e.g. we learn about complex topics like arrays and do loops before we learn what the proc print does that's being used in pretty much every coding example. The order of the examples and names of the coding files have changed over time so that's confusing as well. Finally, the accent of the presenter is very difficult to understand (even the captions don't help) which makes it harder for beginners to follow what the presenter says. If I wasn't an experienced user and I hadn't paid just 20 for the course, my rating would have been much lower.

We don't need tutor for it. We can simply read theory and read the codes 3) At some places, I saw that tutor has not provided to the queries saying it's not on top of her mind (question was to print odd and even chars in a string) 4) Pace is too slow making the video too lengthy. No voice modulation 5) Content is also not good for a beginner

Took the course, done within 2 weeks, attended the Base SAS exam and cleared. I can say almost 90% topics were covered in the course. It will be helpful if you can take up Base SAS practice exams also.
Now looking forward to take the Advanced SAS course from Sharon.

It is a good match, as I was looking for a SAS course which is taught slowly and step by step. Perfect for a very new learner like me.
