Scrum Crash Course: Scrum Essentials and Scrum Fundamentals (Udemy.com)
Agile Scrum Project Management. Master Scrum, Scrum Essentials, Scrum Fundamentals, Scrum Tools and Scrum Artifacts
Created by: YESI EDUCATION
Last updated October 2025
Our take
Based on the ratings of 2,543 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in October 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a 54 minute primer on Scrum, split into 18 short lectures across three sections. It is aimed at people with no Agile background who have heard words like backlog, sprint and kanban board and want them explained in plain terms. The syllabus shows no quizzes, no exercises and no project, so it works as an orientation talk, not a training program. It was last updated in October 2025.
Reviewers mostly like the pace. Many call it short, clear and well planned, and a few say the YESI Education presenter makes Agile feel approachable. Of 2,543 ratings, 1,124 are five stars and 1,049 are four. The complaints are consistent too. Several want small quizzes and real project examples. Others say the slides are simply read out, one video has distracting audio, and one trainer found some statements about the Scrum Master role debatable for newcomers. People already working in Agile call it a refresher at best.
At under an hour it is a low-risk way to pick up the vocabulary before a first Scrum job or team meeting. Reviewers who already use Scrum say they picked up only a few extras. Anyone aiming for a certification, or a close look at how sprints actually run, will need a longer course. Treat this as a first pass, then test the ideas against a real team.
Pros
- Short enough to finish in one sitting at 54 minutes, so it works as a quick refresher
- Reviewers say it is clear and to the point, with jargon explained for true beginners
- Covers Scrum against waterfall, which reviewers singled out as a useful extra
- Well rated: 1,124 five-star and 1,049 four-star ratings out of 2,543
Cons
- No quizzes, exercises or project, and two reviewers asked for small quizzes
- High-level overview only; some say the slides are read out and it adds little beyond a web search
- A few reviewers flagged distracting audio and debatable claims, such as the Scrum Master being optional
It was short, concise, and very useful for anyone who wants a quick refresher type of course on Agile fundamentals. Highly recommended.
Suits true beginners with no Agile background; working Scrum practitioners call it a refresher at best.

Very good representation of Agile/Scrum. Highly recommended to all teams to review and see how this methodology works within your environment. I came from a Scrum development environment and now am in a service environment at DXC and interestingly enough, we are using agile for ticket/task assignment but not formally. I will suggest the team complete this training.

The course covers what it promises: the essentials. If you're already familiar with Agile Scrum, this won't be revolutionary for you but may introduce you to unfamiliar methods of project management (ex: waterfall)

its very helpful for the new learners on understanding the Agile also well articulated by the presenter. Appreciate his valuable insights that helped for a crisp view of Agile which I thought of could be tough to get it understand. Kudos to his efforts and insights.

I am unable to view/watch the Section 2.6 (The Agile Culture). It won't load. I'm also not able to copy/paste the screens of the presentations so I can quickly view them later. I like having the quick reference when I need it.

There were periods where I fast forwarded past the audio portion and just read the material. Not really a ding on the material overall, I appreciated the run down.

I am currently involved in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course and I find alot of th same or similar concepts. I believe this ccourse will only enhance what I already know and what I am able to do.
By Susan Esposito on 1/5/2023
This is a good course to clarify "agile terminology" for someone who's heard it used but never actually applied in practice!
By Carol Bustamante Bittencourt Harvey on 9/27/2021
I really enjoyed this mini course. I took this after the "Agile Crash Course" by Mauricio, and a lot of things were the same, but I also learned new terminology. Definitely recommend.
By Lucey Carter on 4/6/2021
It as a good overview that coveted the basics in enough depth to understand without going too deep that the message gets lost in the detail. I would recommend this course.
