Course Description
Build your own collaboration sites – no tech skills needed!
Microsoft SharePoint has been called one of the most powerful tools that exist today for business collaboration. Steve Ballmer once said that SharePoint “unleashes a suite of capabilities that dramatically improves the way people work.”
But what does SharePoint actually do, and how do people and businesses actually use it? In this introductory course, our trainer, SharePoint architect and Microsoft certified technical specialist Idaho Edokpayi, demonstrates the basics of using SharePoint and SharePoint Online and shows you how to maximize its capabilities.
In just fourteen short lessons, Idaho demonstrates how SharePoint can be used to store documents and information, build intranet websites, and securely share files. You’ll not only be able to navigate and use SharePoint sites, but also create your own sites for communication and documentation. You’ll also learn how to customize your sites to reflect your specific needs.
Topics covered include:
Creating Team Sites to share documents and other collaborative information
Creating and editing Communication Sites
Navigating the SharePoint platform
Working with documents
Working with Major Versions and Minor Versions
Using Check-In, Search, Recycle Bin, and List Apps
Customizing your sites

Create a recent training video. Update the quiz; a few questions with duplicate answers causing an incorrect score if the wrong duplicate is chosen.

The whole question-anwser thing between a tutor and a student is quite helpful! Everything is explained very logical and detailed, without escalating. There is a lot of well explained content within these two hours. The music sounds like it is 20 years old ^^

Good explanation of what SharePoint can do and how to get around in SharePoint. Suffers some from the lack of a real world example of SharePoint being used. Much of the examples are dummy sites created just for the course with little detail or few files.

Great instructors, very clear but in term of content learned it is pretty minimal. I would have liked if there was an overview of all webparts.

An amazingly quick and systemtic overview of SharePoint Online by two experts. With their role play as teacher-student throughout the process, using specific examples, illustrations and all in context - one cannot but want to explore more of the SharePoint potentials for everyday use. Learning SharePoint is not that intimidating after all. So excited and grateful for having the opportunity to attend this basic course.

I like the question/answer format. Everything is explained clearly; the content is appropriate for a beginner. I learned a lot and now I'm wanting more.

El contenido es bueno. Me parece excelente el formato de instructor-alumno, solo tuve un poco de problemas en la reproducción del video de uno de los módulos. Muchas gracias

The content is exactly what I was looking for. Sharepoint seems to be a bit confusing to understand i.e. where do I start. The explanation of what sites are used for is very helpful. I liked the approach taken: Chip ask questions concerning how features would work in real life and Idaho responding with various ways of achieving the outcome. Some of the videos are blurry but that did not greatly affect the content.

In a few of the early lessons there were brief 'blurry' sections where the camera was not focused correctly. Not a significant issue by any means but could probably have been fixed.
By Amy Valentine on 10/28/2018
This was a great introduction to the new Modern site templates. Idaho and Chip always stayed on topic. They didn't jump around too much during the exercises, like some other course instructors do.
