SQL Server Migration and Upgrade Process (Udemy.com)

This course is a good starting point for junior DBAs or those who work as DBAs only occasionally. However, the methods presented are not aligned with the latest industry standards. That said, they do help you understand where to look and provide a general overview of what needs to be done during a migration. DBAs who aspire to excel in their role should be aware that more advanced migration approaches are required, including scripting and the use of additional specialized tools. Some examples in the course are a bit sloppy or incomplete.

Nur 2,5~ Stunden der 7 sind über das eigentliche Thema der Migration, alles andere ist Aufbau von Umgebung, das hätte besser ein eigenes Thema sein sollen. Es wird mehr oder minder Wild zwischen Themen hin und her gewechselt. Es wird zwar anfangs eine Struktur festgelegt, aus der aber immer wieder ausgebrochen wird bzw. Änderungen vorgenommen werden.

Excellent training with good examples. I love the way Raphael explaining slowly and clearly even a beginner can understand. He is having excellent knowledge on SQL and practical expertise. I would like to take more courses trained by Raphael. Thank you so much.

Awesome discussion and explanation, but most of the Folders are lucking with supporting documents and checklist are missing, only the Slides are in some folders. If could add the Excel sheet and the checklist that might be more helpful, to follow the steps one by one.

enjoyed course except that in the last datafiles/data was not moved and validated with 2016 it makes more sense when whole migration including whole data is moved and validated in the newer version this is the only point noted my end everything is nice....thanks.

Mr. Raphael Asghar's materials and videos are EXACTLY what I needed. I have been an Oracle DBA since 1999 and had some Microsoft SQL Server experience for almost as long but not as indepth. I just started a new job so found Mr. Asghar on Udemy. After enrolling and watching his courses, walk into meetings exceptionally prepared and confident. He takes his audience from the rudimentary steps of MS SQL Server, to much more in-depth material in very little time. I highly endorse Mr. Raphael Asghar and encourage anyone needing to know Microsoft SQL Server, Database Migrations, and Installing and Configuring them, in minimal time, to take his courses.

This training is came to me on the actual time and from the beginning it was very interesting and this was my interest I wanted to learn specially installing and configuring using VB server and all the steps I go thru is what I want 100%

At the beginning I was sceptical about the course. But I have discovered there are some interesting things about the migration. One of the interesting things for me are / were ''compatibility issues'', ''In place upgrade'' and ''Migration Advisor'' . Expalined and clearly to me.
