SQL Server Performance Tuning Part 2 (Udemy.com)

Course was good coverage. I wish for a more advanced one that when deeper into a few of the subjects, like waits is a preview of sorts, so would like a more advance version covering some of this course in much greater detail. Overall though, I got a lot out of this, and everything worked. Also, rather than going through all the hassle of setting up SQL on your local machine, you would be better off creating a VM in Azure or AWS and using that instead. You can configure the VMs to shut down after a period of inactivity or at a certain time of day to prevent you from racking up a bill and save money by having the VM turn off when you are not using it. You can use the Developer Edition of SQL Server which is free and will help keep the costs down and has all the features of Enterprise Edition. Recommendation is to do the whole course (including Part 1) on with 2017 or later.

Mr Rafa is always amazing in teaching and explainations and he is the my go-to when it comes to MS SQL server. three requests wish to be added as update for performance tuning and migration: 1-as a regular student i wish to get the link to your website as I couldn't get it from goggle page. 2-more examples in perf tuning in figure out what causing slowness 3- migrate with Always on availability groups

Great, really well-organized course with valuable information. My only concern is the font size in the videos—it’s a bit small and a little difficult to read when I have the video window and my work window open side by side. I wish the font were a bit larger. Other than that, an excellent course.

Comprehensive course that covers major database performance issues and troubleshooting techniques. Simple, easy-to-understand examples that demonstrate real-world scenarios.

Bottom line: at the end of the course, you will have a very solid idea of the available performance analysis tools provided by MS for SQL Server and will have seen solid descriptions of them and demonstrations on how to use all of them. You are also given tips that help you go beyond what is explicitly taught to take yourself to the expert level. Thanks!

It's a awesome course. It's full of solid content. It's easy to understand because the teacher apply a lot of examples. I did some courses of this teacher and I will do the others. It's very very very helpfull. I recommend this course. Teacher, thanks for share your knowlegde.

Wonderful explanation. Since Power Shell is an integral part of SQL Server, it is imperative to learn Power Shell. Lots of courses on Power Shell on Udemy but nothing from Raphael Asghar. Hopefully he will upload a tutorial on Power Shell immediately.

Good thing about Raphael Asghar is that he is very practical and doesn't really try to hide something which he would not know and tries to make the course understandable for beginner to mid level DBA's. The course is not so advanced, probably good for beginners or mid level DBA's.

As always great job Raf. I really enjoyed the course. I really like the parts regarding: Solving complilation 1 and 2, page splitting, blocking issues. Really good job with TempDB and especially with Wait Stats. I have learnt a lot Yes, you are right. We need to practice and practice !!!

I took Raphael all the courses and learned a lot . I am now a certified SQL-Server dba and I was able to crack interview comfortably. All you need to do is watch and practice. The practice is key for your success but Raphael is the best for SQL-Server.
