Course Description

Over 28,000 students bought the TOGAF® 9.1 version of this course. This version has been completely redone and re-recorded, based on the latest changes to the standard.

If you look at the job listings, developers and architects with TOGAF experience are in high demand.

You can get certified as an enterprise architect with the TOGAF 9.2 certification exam (OG0-092), and this course will teach you what you need to know!

It takes training to become an Enterprise Architect. Much of that comes through on-the-job skills learned while working on software projects of larger-and-larger in scope. But very definitely there is a very specific way to design software at an enterprise scale.

The Open Group has defined a standard for this method for almost 10 years now, and over 400 companies and government agencies have been involved in crafting that standard. It is called TOGAF - The Open Group Architecture Framework.

The truth is:

This course helps you become certified in the TOGAF 9.2 specification. Through learning the Architecture Development Method (ADM), you will become better at designing systems. If you already architect software for a living, learning an official enterprise architecture framework such as this takes you to the next level of your career.

You owe it to yourself:

If you are a software developer, this is your chance to learn the proper techniques for assessing the requirements of an enterprise, and designing the right solutions for today and tomorrow! While software development is skill any teenager can acquire, and the salaries paid to software developers fall or are frozen, it's those who know the complex skills of designing large software projects that will still be in high demand.

Specifically, this course will teach you:

  • The details of the TOGAF 9.2 Foundation exam (OG0-091), including how to book it, and my experiences taking the exam

  • The basic and core skills of the TOGAF framework

  • The Architecture Development Method (ADM), all of the phases, and the key information to know to pass the exam

  • Other topics covered on the exam, including Architecture Governance, Architecture Capacity, Enterprise Continuum, Capability Assessment and reference frameworks such as TRM and III-RM

This course is focused on passing the exam. In-person classes for this same exam costs $2,000 and take 2 days of intensive training. This course aims to bridge the gap between that level of in-person training, and self-study.

If you've ever tried to read the TOGAF 9.2 specification or even the official study guides for the exam, you will perhaps agree that they are lengthy and hard to understand. The TOGAF 9.2 spec is 500 pages long. The official study guide is 265 pages. Both are written in that same style that many official specifications are written in - both very precise and extremely lengthy.

Watching these lectures, doing the quiz questions, and following up with a reading of the relevant section of the specification will save hours off of your self-study time, and will give you the confidence to take the exam and get certified at Part 1!

So join me:

Join over 28,000 students studying for the TOGAF 9 Part 1 certification test in one of my Udemy courses! Many have taken and passed the exam after taking this course! I am confident that this course will save you many, many hours of studying time compared with just reading the 500-page spec yourself. If you are in any way not satisfied, for any reason, you can get a full refund from Udemy within 30 days. No questions asked. But I am confident you won't need to. I stand behind this course 100% and am committed to helping you pass. You won't get that commitment from a book, or from any other TOGAF class on Udemy.

I am a TOGAF Certified architect, and a member of the Open Group's Architecture Forum - helping to define the standard going forward. I am using the TOGAF 9.2 specification under a commercial license.

Scott Duffy

Hi there, my name is Scott Duffy. And I love making complex technical topics easy to understand.

This has been the basis of my entire career – as a developer, as a development manager, as a software architect – over the past 20 years. I spend half my time in the world of business, explaining complex technical topics to business owners and stakeholders so that they can understand and agree with my approach to solving their business problems with technical solutions. And the other half with developers, explaining the business reasons behind decisions and ensuring that any decisions made on the technical side don't restrict the business in unexpected ways.

And I'm here on Udemy to teach what I know in an approachable way. I started teaching courses in 2014, and have taught over 1,600,000 students. I am grateful every day for being able to connect with so many students in almost every country around the world.

I'm a certified Enterprise Architect and certified cloud architect. I have been developing with Microsoft technologies for 20 years, starting with Classic ASP, and all the versions of .NET. We now live in the cloud era, with Microsoft Azure being prevalent in most large enterprises. I'm certified as an Azure Architect and Developer too. As well as AWS Solution Architect Associate (SAA).

Microsoft MVP Award winner for 2022-2025.

The course is awesome, and I was able to clear TOGAF Part 2. This course helped me a lot to brush up basic concepts of EA. The real exam was tough and selecting an option was very challenging. However, my real life experience helped me a lot there. I wish a lot of success to all the learners.

Its a good course to get an understanding of TOGAF implementation. The language is simple and easy to grasp, so it makes it really easy to understand and relate to the topic being discussed. The course is not very exciting and the reason for that is, that this is more theoretical in nature. Perhaps its an opportunity for Scott to develop a course which is more focused on the implementation of TOGAF covering every ADM technique and other tools used by Enterprise Architects and making people familiar with how to use those. Overall liked the material and the presentation.

A great course, covering all the main concepts and content. Was the basis for passing the TOGAF® 10 Level 2 exam. What's lacking is the practice part - quizzes and a simulation of an exam to get the feeling of what to expect. But one can get it with some searching on The Open Group's website. Thanks a lot, Scott!

I did this with the Part 1. What a great course. I passed the exam with a great score. I would recommend this course to anyone who would want to pass the exam and understand the concepts in a better way. Thank you Scott for playing a part of my achievement!

It helped me expedite the pace of learning and I have successfully passed the TOGAF. It’s not an option but a must to subscribe for this course if you want to increase your chance of passing the exam. Please be advised that you need to go through the entire book once at-least a glance to pass the course. It’s indeed a difficult exam to crack because of the nature of the questions. You need a very clear understanding of what is what, why and how. All the best and thanks to the Tutor for helping me to get certified.

The course is well organized and covers all the topics related to the TOGAF Part 2 Exam. The best approach to crack the Part 2 Exam is to go through the videos in this course and then refer to the TOGAF Official study guide. Would recommend the course to anyone as there are not many good TOGAF related training courses available and this course has quality information.

With this course I have managed to grasp a good understanding of the huge book and create a really good knowledge basis for deep diving in the frameworks detail whenever needed. It would be great Scott, if you could highlight the point that you are describing. It is a bit difficult for the human brain to read something and hear something different at the same time. Both are valuable, I just had to pause a little bit, go back and re-listen your comments

I went through all course's and blog's of Scott. Amazing teacher that he is for sure but he is also a cool headed guy. Guided perfectly with all possible if-then-else option's. I completed both my part-1 & part-2 test's on the same day and got certified as TOGAF 9.2 with really good marks. Thanks Scott, your course's made life really easy to prepare for TOGAF. Will recommend all these course's of Scott, if at all you are preparing for TOGAF.

I highly recommend this course. My holiday was cancelled due to flight cancellations and I used that opportunity to go through this course and yesterday I managed to clear my Combined exam. All in just 3 weeks. Course is very detailed and gives you enough to get through exams. I had all 4 courses from Scott (Part 1 and 2 for 9.1 and 9.2) and detailed explanation of Phases in Part 1 of 9.1 is really helpful. Scot has made it easier to understand the boring and mind numbing textbook jargons. In addition to these courses, I also referred to this YouTube playlist which was pretty helpful too. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiKi2fmsDHN6vBv9c5QjtctIin8jpFYM9

Good Material. However as far as preparation for the Part II exam, I would like to see each Chapter start off with a quick mapping back to relevant ADM phase(s). As well as mention the deliverable and/or step it is related too. The Part II exam drills into your understanding of which elements belong to which phase in a Scenario based example.
