There are many more detailed and less time consuming videos about trading out on youtube. the description on this should say "beginner" because it makes it sound a bit more advanced than it actually is. The "live" trading demonstration was pretty trash as he only traded once and it was a poor example because he didn't even set his stop loss at a more reasonable level.. anyway, I did get a little something out of it so that's why he earned 3 stars. but the title of this course is definitely misleading.

The course contains so much useful material that you cannot absorb everything in the first reading. However, it forms a great basis to start from. Undoubtedly, you will have to go back to check on various things, and in some cases, you will need to seek more details and clarification beyond the course content. Nevertheless, the course is well worth the time and money that you invest in it.

I recently completed this course, and it was an outstanding learning experience. The material is organized in a way that makes even complex technical analysis concepts easy to understand, especially for beginners. The instructor breaks down chart patterns, indicators, trend analysis, and market psychology with clarity, using practical examples that connect theory to real trading situations. Overall, this course gave me a strong foundation to approach the markets with greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how to interpret price action. I was bewildered by the prospect of wading through books, courses, and videos endlessly to construct a sound mental model for technical analysis: really grateful that I didn't have to do so, and that I now have a solid foundation to deepen with application and runtime. The cumulative buildup and concept synthesis was phenomenal.

This course is hands down one of the best trading courses. The depth of content, clarity of explanations, and practical structure make it stand out from the sea of generic trading material out there. What I appreciated most is Steve’s teaching style. He explains complex concepts in a way that is logical, intuitive, and immediately actionable. Nothing feels rushed or superficial. Every indicator, pattern, and concept is explained with purpose, real market context, and clear reasoning behind when and why to use it. This is not a course that just shows tools. It teaches you how to think like a trader. The course strikes an excellent balance between theory and real-world application. You can tell this material comes from real market experience, not just textbook definitions. Because of how much I enjoyed this course and how much value I got from it, I am absolutely planning to take all of Steve Ballinger’s other investing and trading courses. If you are serious about learning properly and building a solid foundation, this course is a must. Highly recommended for both beginners who want to start the right way and experienced traders looking to sharpen their edge.

This was a real solid course on the basics. To get into actual trading I think you'll need to do some more learning but with this course all the acronyms, strategies, etc will be familiar to you. The instructor was engaging, the production was good, and there's over 12 hours of content. I definitely recommend this course if you want a good foundation on trading basics.

I'm not done with the course yet, but instructor does a fantastic job at explaining everything in great detail. I originally bought it to see if I could learn anything new as I've been trading for 3 years now and I have learned something new so thank you! I recommend this course to any trader.

Been around investing for a while, but new to trading. This is a great intro course to help you dive into the world of trading. I felt this course helped me get started and to understand the basics of market behavior, trading styles and technical analysis techniques I need to make decisions.

Thank you for this course, The instructor is objective and teaching from a rational and practical point of view, gives us correct knowledge based on what type of trader we want to be, because this course is both for a scalper and an investor. Looking forward to learning more trading courses from him.

I just finished Steve Ballinger’s “Technical Trading” course and overall I really enjoyed it. Steve has a very clear, calm teaching style and does an excellent job explaining the most popular technical indicators (Moving Averages, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, Volume, etc.) with plenty of real chart examples. As someone relatively new to day trading, I finally feel like I actually understand what these indicators are telling me and how they can be used together. The sections on chart patterns, support/resonance, and candlestick reading were also very illustrative and helpful. The course is perfect if you want to build a strong foundation in technical analysis without being overwhelmed. That said, there are a few areas where I felt the course could be even better (which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5):Stock selection / scanning: After finishing the course I still wasn’t 100% sure how to practically find tradeable stocks every day. A dedicated section on how to use scanners (Finviz, TradingView, Thinkorswim, etc.) or what criteria to use for day trading setups would have been extremely valuable. Broker vs. Trading Platform confusion: Many beginners like me often don’t know the difference between a broker (Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, etc.) and the actual charting/trading platform (Thinkorswim, TradingView, Sierra Chart…). A short module clarifying this would save a lot of confusion. More complete trading strategy examples: Steve gives good general guidelines for building a strategy, but I would have loved 2–3 fully worked-out examples (entry rules, stop-loss placement, profit targets, position sizing, risk management) from A to Z on real stocks. VWAP (not WMAP): The course mentions VWAP very briefly, but many day traders consider it one of the most important intraday indicators. A deeper dive (anchored VWAP, VWAP crosses, standard-deviation bands, etc.) would have been awesome. None of these are deal-breakers — the course is still one of the best beginner-to-intermediate technical analysis courses I’ve taken on Udemy — but adding those topics would easily make it a 5-star, “go-to” course for new day traders.Highly recommended if you’re starting out and want to truly understand indicators instead of just memorizing them.
