I like that the author is using XAMPP. I wish instead of using XAMPP locally, he would cover how to have your own Linux server running XAMPP. At this point, I am enjoying the course, looking forward to some areas where my knowledge is lacking. The author uses the word "basically" too often, but I appreciate the volume level and how easy he is to understand.
