Today, we need to bundle together writing skills, design and graphics, video creation, multimedia, metadata, and software development to meet the expectations of our users.
All these assets put together can be described together as user assistance.

This course was a great supplement to my early career as a technical writer. As someone who stumbled upon the profession with no formal training, this course reinforced fundamentals that I use every day. I now feel enabled to speak to my work on a much higher level using industry standard terminology and strategies. Highly recommend, even as someone who has been a technical writer for multiple years already.

Kurt Vonnegut once described technical writers as "trained to reveal almost nothing about themselves in their writing. This makes them freaks in the world of writers, since almost all of the other ink-stained wretches in that world reveal a lot about themselves to the reader." This is a great course and covers everything you need to know to write documentation in GitHub. I also enjoyed the webinar presentations. I like that the instructor was able to talk in real-world terms. I'm currently a TW and he is right about how things work in real life. He asked students "when does the documentation need to be done?". As a working professional I knew that the answer is "yesterday"! Thanks, Cara

This topic opened my eyes up to many different concepts and new technologies. I do not come from a software writing/developing or IT background; however, I was able to appreciate and see how to apply these concepts to software documentation in my new job. I come from an industrial background but am now working for a company that evaluates and inspects that same industry. Most of the work in the new company involves software and interpersonal interactions. We are developing new software and this course helped prepare me to have some tried and tested techniques to implement.

During the course, I had insights that provoked my creative process and the most interesting aspect of it is that those insights could be applied to my different areas of expertise and not only to Technical Writing. It is well put, there's a lot of guidance, considering it is a video course, and the practices involving other participants were very smart and helpful. Thank you.

There is excessive lecture duration and few real-world examples - that's been disappointing, not for me but for many who joined the course, I strongly think. Kindly elaborate through real-world examples to let the learners gain a better understanding - as then only they would be able to perform at their best. Thanks, hopefully, this will help improve the course for upcoming learners.

The course is comprehensive and extensive. Quite a few useful pieces of information have been shared and presented. However, some things are repeated more than once unnecessarily, which prolongs the course. Also, there were audio issues, so even with the speakers at the max volume, I couldn't hear anything. I expected more hands-on examples, especially with the Oxygen tool, which we were advised to download as a trial version. I wouldn't mention this, but I see people complaining about the presenter's accent. I honestly didn't mind that.

Finished the course with a good understanding of technical writing. I also got a job in technical writing in one of the top tech firms after finishing this course. It's worth the money. However, you need to practice. I think the course instructor didn't make the course engaging and the audio was so low at some point I struggled to hear him. If you are considering buying the course, don't overthink it. It's worth your money.

I started this course with the idea of researching a possible new career path. Jordan Stanchev does an amazing job of breaking down complicated guidelines and systems of rules into easily digestible pieces. The information feels like common sense, but anyone who has run into real-world examples of bad technical writing can tell you, it isn't! This course gave me a good foundation to build on, the proper tools to use, and clear ideas of the topics I will need to study next if I want to continue on this path. I found it well worth the investment!

I learned a number of valuable things. I believe I am taking away a lot of valuable information and it was probably worth the money I spent on it. However, the course is seriously below par. There is so much repetition. Perhaps some of the older videos are the worst where Jordan does not really he is speaking to us or giving a lecture he is simply reading to himself. It's incredibly difficult to focus. Honestly, that problem persists throughout all the lectures. In short, these lectures could be organized much better and they could be delivered much better -- Jordan seems to have developed that quality a bit, over time. I remain thankful for the effort that he has made to gather all this hotch potch data, it will be helpful, I feel.
