It needs updating - basics don't change, but techniques really have moved on in editing. 2015 v 2026

Ottimo corso per iniziare a capire le basi del bianco e nero. Peccato che non sia stato più aggiornato. Forse una piccola lezione sugli aggiornamenti delle applicazioni più usate, non sarebbe stato male. Consigliato!

Its got to be a 5 for this course. I have 'tinkered' wiht B&W for years, as well as 'tinkering' with photoshop. Until I studied this video I didn't realise how little I knew. The content is challenging, but definitely comprehensive. The lectures are very well delivered. Have I learnt much...Yes, a considerable amount! Have my images improved as a result... Massively! As David said at the end, it requires for practise, but I personally have learnt alot from this.

By Evgeny Shvets on 6/21/2020

I learnt some very interesting techniques that I didn't know. In the course a lot of examples for practise can be found which is very very important. The photoshop in course is older, but I don't understand the negative reviews, it's not an issue at all. Also I think this course is not for beginners - it's would be useful to come up with understanding of curves & masking and know basic principles of Photoshop before being started.

Was expecting to see a workflow on the stunning images created by the author. Course was very comprehensive and easy to understand.

Very clear voice. Content was easy to follow even though I've never used photoshop. Basically, I like my level of understanding of the postprocess at this point. Update, the content continually becomes more and more complicated, so I don't want to mislead anyone by saying it is always easy to follow, but David, has a way of making a complicated process seem doable. Still highly recommend the course.

Good information. Detailed instructions. Very good instructor. I recommend this set of classes to anyone interested in B&W digital processing. I'm using Affinity Photo. This requires me to determine how to achieve the same results with a different program than the one being used. Fortunately, AP has an excellent Black & White adjustment tool. All of the examples from the instructor can be accomplished within Affinity Photo.

As a long-time Lightroom user the Black and White Tool has been my weapon of choice for a long time so not much new there, but the other techniques are fairly new and good to know and why they work the way they do. I use Lr CC and Ps CC but rarely dip into Ps so its goods to get tome experience with it, but for my long-term workflow I'll probably stick with Lr for this although the way Lr processes the image with the sidecar file makes it quite slow, so for a high-quality image I'd now use Ps. Good to do some stuff in the RAW converter - I don't normally use it. Toning images through the curves tool though is exactly the reason I took this course. I've always shied away from using curves because I didn't understand them but this has helped enormously.

This is a great course. The prof always begins by first evaluating the image and asking, "where do I want to go with this image?" and only then moving to the technique/tool and how to use it. It´s the thinking before the technique that I find terribly useful. I will be going back to this course many times. Finished the course and it´s first rate. Highly recommended.

By Nigel Crooks on 9/4/2016

At the beginning I didn't understand anything about Black & White conversions with Photoshop. But David explains everything about the best and the worst ways of doing things. This is, without doubt, an excellent course if you want to really learn how to get started using Photoshop to convert your photos to Black & White. I'll be looking forward to some more of his courses on Udemy.
