Course Description
Up to date with Cypress 13.0.0 (the most recent versions are basically the same)
You will learn Cypress Automation Basics(E2E testing type only) from scratch with multiple scenarios and good practices.
Just JavaScript basic knowledge is necessary. I will develop examples using TypeScript, but If you understand JavaScript, you'll be capable to understand and develop your first TypeScript scripts with my support.
What is Cypress io?
Cypress test framework is becoming one of the BEST web automation frameworks to setup your test automation scripts for E2E testing and Component testing. It is a great tool because is pretty easy to install, maintain, and write test scripts. Also, you can easily configure it with the most known CI/CD tools in the market. Learn Cypress Test Automation Today!
Cypress overview & feature highlight:
Cypress comes with a beautiful test runner that is going to help you as a QA Engineer to debug your test scripts, travel back in time to see what happened during the execution, and is perfect to change between your scripts with a friendly UI.
But also, you do not need the test runner, you only need to run command to run a full suite and get an HTML report.
Cypress is changing fast, and part of my objetive is bring to my students the newest features, and good practices to the course.
Here are some high level topics that you will understand if you take this course:
Introduction: What is Cypress?
Installation and recommendations
What is Mocha? What is Chai?
How to get or visit a website
Find web elements by CSS or XPath locators
Retryability: No need of wait type configurations (as we used to do in Selenium WebDriver)
Actions(Click, hover, tables)
Real UI Scenarios: Viewport, Checkboxes, Buttons, Links, Broken Images, Download a file, Upload a File, Iframes, autocomplete, and so on.
Page Object Model vs Actions(Custom Commands)
Advanced scenarios: Cookies, Fixtures, Aliases, Share Context, Excel Handling, Database Testing(MySQL), debugging, etc)
Cypress dashboard integration and CI/CD parallel execution with GitHub Actions.
New content will be added with your requests. I am planning to also cover Docker, CI/CD, and Cucumber in the near future.
Note: Recording the course I was a bit nervous, and I made some English mistakes during the explanations. Hope you understand it, and check the notes with the corrections.

Insightful course, appreciate the author touches not only the core features of a Cypress, but also related stuff (BDD, API, parallel execution). Last BDD part was bit crumpled to my taste but overall the value course provides is great. I wish there were interactive parts in the course where you're given a task to write the code and it is asserted via tests automatically. For now these are mostly lectures which you can optionally retype in your IDE and run.

The content is good. However, when you PAY for a course you are expecting some sort of engagement from the lecturer. In my case I have left couple of questions and NEVER got an answer. I even answered some of my questions after spending time and time trying to figure it out. @Joan, you seem like a skillful guy. Please: 1. When you are implementing something put all the details - there are lot of beginners out there. 2. You must dedicate time to answer the questions left on the course.

Joan's patient, cheerful, and humble presentation of these lessons made them a pleasure to work through! I love that they're delivered in "bite sized" videos, which makes this course feel manageable and not overwhelming.

Course is good for beginners. But having in mind that cypress is changing so fast that's not a bad thing. I miss more advance cases and at least one bigger e2e test. Also maybe one example of "POM" but written in functional programing style, as classes are more popular but not as good as that FP approach. Teacher is not perfect but is very likeable person, have his style and over all i was not bored with the course. For the price and duration course was really nice

Thanks a lot for the Cypress + Typescript course/clear explanation, small chunks of the material easy to "digest", the only a disadvantage in the course is lack of links to a few webpages)

The course having deep and impressive concepts Suggestion: Please add mocha tags also into content Please add how to write the yml files if possible In few areas the the content that you are seeing are in very bottom of the screen And your message tones in between the course were making me to check my mobile and laptop's chat notifications :P

Thanks for making this course, I'm now way more confident in my TypeScript and Cypress knowledge. - The instructor's english was easy to understand - I really liked the order of the Sections which were increasing the complexity little by little and that made it easier to learn. - Also liked that the instructor did not edit some of the mistakes during the recording sessions so we can also learn from those common mistakes.

To be honest I don't have any background in automation and I don't know where and how to start. Thanks Joan for sharing videos in youtube and I discovered this course. What I really love about this course is the explanation is simple and easy to understand and for sure anyone could follow. This deserve a 5 stars.

Thank you so much for the course! I have been watching your videos on Youtube for a very long time and I am extremely grateful that you decided to do such an informative course. Keep on delighting us with useful knowledge.

The course gives you a good/great understanding on how to utilise Cypress and also good example web sites in order to practice your skills. You also get a whole repo with all the stuff you have learnt so this enables you to have a great starting point on any other projects you pick up after the course. I may not end up using these skills for a long time, so this was a good bonus to know that I can just reference the project for what I want to know and I am off running.
