Our take
Based on the ratings of 3,029 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in June 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short HTML5 course from Creative Online School, a training outfit rather than one named teacher. It runs about 2.1 hours over 30 lectures in three sections: HTML basics, a more advanced HTML section, and a Bootstrap bonus that takes 61 of the 125 minutes. Nearly 217,000 students have enrolled, and the requirements list says no prior knowledge is needed. There are no quizzes or coding exercises, so it is a watch-and-type course. The syllabus was last updated in June 2026.
Most reviewers are happy. Beginners say the instructor explains each piece of code clearly, speaks with good diction, and uses examples that make sense. One student said they already had their own site running. The 3,029 ratings are mostly four and five stars, with 537 threes. The complaints are consistent. Some say theory is thin and the examples have to be reverse-engineered. Others say the Bootstrap and jQuery parts speed up and assume more than the earlier sections. A few mention older videos, code that does not work as typed, and two lectures in the wrong order. One Mac user got stuck on the very first TextEdit lesson.
At about two hours it is a quick way to find out whether web coding is for them. Treat it as an appetizer, not a full curriculum. The HTML half is the solid part. Plan on a longer course next for CSS and real projects, since one reviewer wanted a simple page built from start to finish. Reviewers point it at the curious beginner, and you can skip it if you want practice problems or a portfolio piece.
Pros
- Clear, well-spoken explanations that complete beginners say are easy to follow
- Short at about two hours, so a beginner can finish it in a weekend
- Covers core HTML5 tags, forms, links, audio and video in one sitting
- Bootstrap bonus section gives a first look at layout tools beyond plain HTML
Cons
- No quizzes or coding exercises, and one reviewer wanted a real-world build-a-page example
- Bootstrap and jQuery section speeds up and assumes more than the earlier lessons
- Some older videos, code that fails as typed, and thin theory behind the examples
I have no experience with coding. I find the course easy to follow along and learn that I have my own site up and running already.
Fits true beginners well; the Bootstrap bonus is harder than the All Levels label and the no-prior-knowledge line suggest.

The course helped me understand the basics of including Bootstraps and jQuery in codes. I am very happy in the progress that I made so far and the coding that I have learnt, thank you so much! You’re topics were interesting.

overall the course is great, both the instructor and course material are splendid!, but I would have loved to see him teach us how to make different parts of the webpage in different styles and with different way's.

Muchas gracias

First three sections are good. Easy to understand explanations of HTML/CSS. However the last 2 sections throw a number of assumptions on the student's capabilities. Also, and I believe this to be because of how old the course is, some of the code doesn't work when typing it out exactly. Not to mention that two videos are the wrong way round in the last section.

Your course is nice and divided into 5 part.
By Alberto Villa on 11/12/2020
At the end of the jQuery bonus sections there were a lot of mistakes (like missing semicolons, or hash tags) that he didn't go back to and correct. He just kind of skipped over them in the recording to where the scripts were actually working.
