This is a short beginner primer, not a bootcamp. The syllabus shows 21 lectures and about 65 minutes of video, nearly all of it in one section called Let's learn some HTML. John Bura walks through the basic tags and how a page is put together, and that is the whole scope. The audience list says complete beginners and people who want to become web developers, and the first group is the honest fit. Reviewers who already know some HTML use it as a refresher and say it works well for that too.

Students praise the clarity and the pace. Several call it easy to follow, one says the short lectures helped a lot, and another says he could practice alongside the explanations. The rating breakdown backs this up: about 4,200 of the 8,161 reviews are five stars, and fewer than 200 are one or two stars. The complaints are mild but real. One reviewer calls the content outdated and a little rough around the edges, and another wishes there were a built-in editor to practice in. There are no quizzes, exercises, or projects, and the last update was in September 2022.

Value depends on what you pay. It is a paid course, and every neighbor on our HTML 5 page puts CSS in the title, so an hour of tags alone is a harder sell unless it is on sale or you want a fast on-ramp. As a first hour of code it is a solid choice. As a course to build a website from, it is not.
