It would be very helpfull to have tasks involving tables with more rows (thousands of data) as it is done in TASK 13. I would recommend that for the "Section 6: Advanced - Part 1" with the Subquerys. Above all the course has been great and helpful for people that are starting to work with SQL databases.

After a few decades in the IT industry, I decided to take this course to see if there were and blind spots in my knowledge of SQL. Based on the contents of this course, I can happily say there weren't any big nor important ones. About the course... Of course it's not going to live up to its title: you can't become an expert just by taking this course. It requires more studying, and above that: lots of practice. But you can't sell a product or service without a little bit of hyperbole. So I'll let that slide. ;-) This course delivered what I expected of it, and then some. It was a little bit repetitive (first a concept is explained and then executed using MySQL Workbench, with a lot of overlap in explanation and execution) but less annoyingly so than in other courses I've taken. The explanations were clear, examples well chosen, and it was easy to understand the narrator. Few mistakes were made, and quickly corrected, coding out the examples which inspires confidence. The narrator spoke VERY slowly, but this was easily helped by playing the videos at 200% the original speed. ;-) I recommend this course.

All the topics are explained in a great way in a concise and detailed manner. But I feel it would be really helpful to understand the next course of action if the future steps were discussed. Also, a little bit more practice sessions should be added along with frequently asked job interview questions. Overall I must say the experience is really good.

My new favorite Udemy!! This course literally raised the bar, in terms of what denotes a good Udemy. It was informational, clear, methodical, cohesive, unhurried, and most importantly... achievable. What do I mean by "achievable?" Of course, it's nice to have courses that are jam-packed with every theoretical concept under the sun... but when they're too large, completion can be difficult. Not to mention, the Udemys with outdated code, making it a pain to complete (although I'm sure at some point, this will become outdated as well). Really: this course was perfect in my eyes. I may not be an SQL expert yet, but I no longer "cry in a corner" when people ask me to write queries in Spring Boot.

In a way, "above expectations" is a lie. I got exactly, what I expected. I have known about the quality of he courses Vertex does, since I already tried their Web developer course, which is a one in million course as well compared to other ones here or elsewhere. Unfortunately for my profession(I am a data analyst) I could only learn it as a nice to have, since it is a completely different field.(despite this, I plan to continue/start again with it, because it is a nice set of skills to have). Luckily Vertex decided to create this SQL course which has been done with the same quality, attention to detail and thoroughness. The pacing is percfect, it is well built, the materials are top notch and the instructor has a very calm, almost realxing presentation style, not rushing anything and explaining all the important key elements for every given topic. It has the riht amount of task for every presented subtopic. What I really like to point out: if someone asks a question or doesn't understand something, the team responds rather fast. Not to mention if there is any error or mistake in any of the course videos, if they are mentioned and are relevant, those mistakes are corrected really fast, and on this site this is almost unprecedented. I plan to redo it again, so that I have a full understanding of it all, because one cannot memorize so many new things in one go. As with everything, prectice makes perfect, one just needs the right materials and for questions the right teacher. Thank you Vertex, you have set a new standard for courses here on Udemy.

I do not like to leave reviews but for this course I will do this because it is probably the best online course I ever had! The course is well-designed for absolute beginners with very detailed explanation of each and every issue. The way they explain every topic is very smooth and easy to understand. I recommend the course to everyone, especially for beginners in SQL. The course is worth every penny.

I joined the course to get ready for an interview in Java. The course is awesome! It's compact so I could complete it in two days before the interview. At the same time, it has all the most important topics. And I could rehearse afterwards with the assignments from the course to make sure I am ready

I've got to say this is a great course. Although I wasn't a complete beginner when I enrolled, I still managed to learn new things. Everything is well explained and the course goes to great lengths to present complex SQL features like procedures, functions, variables... Furthermore, all my questions were answered in a timely manner and thoroughly. Highly recommended.

content is good, instructor not so great. too much repetition of information. it is a waste of time to first solve a question in the slides and then do the exact same thing on the workbench - just do it once. Lecture number 64 has mismatched video/audio. The advanced sections don't have any assignments, which would have been helpful in cementing the knowledge acquired.

Amazing course which exceeded my expectations! This is my first time learning about SQL and this course made it so easy to follow and understand both theory and practice. I like their supportive slides, organized structure, clear explanations and very good exercises. I enjoyed this learning experience. Many thanks!
