This is a 13.6 hour course on using OpenAI Codex as a general work assistant, not just a coding tool. The syllabus shows 97 lectures in 11 sections: skills, plugins, custom skills, browser-based competitive analysis, games, forecasting, data analytics and building agents with the developers plugin. It was published in June 2026 and last updated in September 2026, which matters for a tool that changes this fast. No programming is required, and the audience list leans toward founders, analysts, marketers and finance people as much as developers.

Reviewers like the clear, organized delivery. One non-coder says it explained everything properly, and another describes Dr. Ryan Ahmed as excited about the topic and well-informed. The complaints are consistent, though. Reviewers say the videos run long because he reads each prompt aloud, even though the prompts are in the course materials. Others call the content surface level or short on detailed instruction. One reviewer disliked a slide comparison where the skill version looked worse but was presented as better. I didn't like the part where the presenter tried to compare a PowerPoint presentation with and without the Codex Skill. The one using the skill had *a lot of* visual artifacts and looked noticeably AI-generated, yet the presenter kept trying to convince us it looked better. The version without the skill barely had any misalignments at all. It’s not the end of the world, but I really dislike sugarcoating reality. If the skill made the presentation worse, that should have been addressed rather than pretending that Skills always improve the output.
