Want to learn one of the most in-demand skills in the business and technology sector? Then this course is perfect for you!
SQL is one of the most in demand programming languages in the world. It’s the language used to communicate with Relational Databases.
In addition to the extremely popular relational databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Databases more and more platforms new and old are supporting SQL including Amazon Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery and the list goes on and on…
According to IEEE Spectrum - SQL is the top programming language when it comes to its “Jobs” ranking.
This course has been designed for:
Individuals with no prior experience in SQL and looking to make that step to develop their skills in this highly sought after programming language
Those with some experience looking to brush up on their SQL knowledge
We will be using MySQL which is one of the most widely used relational databases in the world. The version we’ll be using is open source and completely free.
Although we will be using MySQL the course has been designed to highlight key differences between some of the main Database Management Systems such as Oracle, Postgre and Microsoft SQL Server, so what you learn in this course can be applied across all platforms supporting SQL.
The lectures in this course are arranged in a logical flow and delivered as short, bite-sized videos. The course is designed to be comprehensive, but also concise in order to make the learning experience as easy as possible. Every major section of the course will be rounded off coding challenges and dedicated assignment sections to give you an opportunity to develop your practical skills.

I needed a refresh on SQL as I didn't use it for years and now I need it again. This course was excellent. Very useful as a refresher, while learning several new things I didn't know before. Exercises aren't trivial and a nice challenge, especially for beginners. I'll now start his advanced SQL course.

Having no prior experience with SQL, this course by Malvik Vaghadia proved to be an excellent resource for learning MySQL. The lectures were clear and well-structured, making it easy for beginners to follow along. Each section included assignments that reinforced the concepts learned and boosted my confidence. Malvik's comprehensive explanations, coupled with the course's well-organized structure, made the learning process smooth and engaging. Thank you, Malvik Vaghadia, for creating this fantastic course!

I needed a refresher on SQL and was torn between this class and his more advanced class, so I got both. I was very happy to get this class even if a lot was review because it gave me better grounding on important concepts like GROUP BY/HAVING, Joins, and Views. His style is easy to listen to, and I loved using Oracle Apex for following along with the material. I definitely would recommend this class if you need to review some fundamental SQL concepts before going to the intermediate class.

Sections 1-3: So far the installation/baseline info has been very easy to understand and it helped with navigating the websites we've interacted with so far. Sections3-6: A fantastic overview of the material with great examples. While I'm still having some trouble, I am leaps and bounds ahead of where I was before this course.

I thought this course was very good for my SQL learning skills. Marvik spoke very clearly and explained his instructions very well. He went through each lecture and followed it up with some practical examples so that us SQL beginners like me, could apply it ourselves and test whether we could understand the concept. I really liked the slides he provided as well. Very informative and concise.

This class is the shining example of how to organize, structure, arrange, and present materials for learning in a way that feels natural and makes sense for the student. Malvik's voice is extremely clear, concise, well-paced, unhurried, and he stays on topic without any confusing jumping around, and without any redundant repetition of topics. Other instructors should look to this course as the gold standard example of how to organize and present a class.

Excellent course, I highly reccommending it! I have finished over 200 different courses (and a certain number of SQL courses among them), and I feel obligated to give positive review for this. I took it as refresher and it surprised me in a pleasent way. Qualities of this course: -Clear & concise - in short bits, no unneccessary waste of time -Straight to the point & good explanation -Exercises perfectly match content

AMAZING COURSE! The lectures are very good structured, with slides, explanations and post production of every mini video. There are many examples, exercises with solutions step-by-step. He especially treats Oracle, but he also describes differences with SQL Server and MySQL. I work with these last two, and I still recommend the course because he is able to give the logic beyond these languages. I am going to continue with his next level course!!!

This is a highly well-done and straightforward course. I decided to choose this SQL course instead of the other ones on the platform because improving my SQL skills is one of my goals inside my company, and this is exactly what I was looking for. I just finished this course, and honestly, I'm looking for continuing being a Malvik student, he has really good teaching skills.

For assignment questions in the format 'choose the nth highest or lowest', the provided answer is wrong. Select the country with 5th highest population : the solution given just returns all the population in descending order and the instructor just looks at the returned table and goes "as you can see the 5th highest population is". The point is not to see the row from the table that is returned, it is to return a single row.
