  • Scatter plot

  • Scatter plot with a trendline (regression plot)

We live in the age of data. Being able to gather good data, preprocess it, and model it is crucial.

There is nothing more important than being able to interpret that data.

Data visualization allows us to achieve just that. It is the face of data. Many people look at the data and see nothing. The reason for that is that they are not creating good visualizations. Or even worse – they are creating nice graphs but cannot interpret them accurately.

This course will tackle both of these problems. We will make sure you can confidently create any chart that you need to provide a meaningful visualization of the data you are working with. Not only that – you will be able to label and style data visualizations to achieve a ready-for-presentation graph. Furthermore, through this course, you will learn how to interpret different types of charts and when to use them. We will provide examples of great charts as well as terrible charts. We will spare no effort in transforming you into the key person for data visualizations in any team.

We are confident that by the time you complete this course, creating and understanding data visualizations will be a piece of cake for you!

What makes this course different from the rest of the Data Visualization courses out there?

  • 4 different data visualization courses in 1 course – we cover Excel, Tableau, Python and R

  • Ready-to-use templates for all charts included in the course

  • High-quality production – Full HD and HD video and animations crafted professionally by our experienced team of visual artists

  • Knowledgeable instructor team with experience in teaching on Udemy

  • Complete training – we will cover all common graphs and charts you need to become an invaluable member of your data science team

  • Excellent support - if you don’t understand a concept or you simply want to drop us a line, you’ll receive an answer within 1 business day

  • Dynamic - we don’t want to waste your time! The instructor sets a very good pace throughout the whole course

Why do you need these skills?

  1. Salary/Income – careers in the field of data science are some of the most popular in the corporate world today. Literally every company nowadays needs to visualize their data, therefore the data viz position is very well paid

  2. Promotions – being the person who creates the data visualizations makes you the bridge between the data and the decision-makers; all stakeholders in the company will value your input, ensuring your spot on the strategy team

  3. Secure future – being able to understand data in today’s world is the most important skill to possess and it is only developed by seeing, visualizing and interpreting many datasets

Despite it's an excellent course it's getting outdated, some functions became deprecated. Eg. Warning message: Using `size` aesthetic for lines was deprecated in ggplot2 3.4.0. ℹ Please use `linewidth` instead.)

By Stefan Kleinhans on 1/15/2022

It is a good introduction into different tool sets - how ever not all of them are relevant to me. Then getting to know data visualization and what the best practice is helps to an extend but will have to be tested in real world scenarios. I really liked the dashboard section more.

By Michel Schweinsberg on 6/23/2021

It would be hard to find a better introduction to Data Visualzation with the leading visualziation tools. Instead of having to piece together a bunch of youtubes, or even several other Udemy Courses, you get 4 major pieces of software, and step by step how to create all the basic charts in each of them. Absolutely superb!! WHEEE! I have 4.5 out of 5 starts, and I want to say the course is VERY good. Excellent. I reserved saying it was "perfect" however because I would have absolutely and utterly loved to see them include Javascript D3 in each section too. That is my favorite and I think offers the most beautiful possibilities. Nevertheless, you get a great introduction to 4 big players here, and that is worth a lot.

This course was one of the best Data Visualization courses I have ever taken on Udemy as it had amazing detailed instructions for multiple applications for creating Visualizations in Excel, Python, Tableau, and R. Each Application had a step-by-step process of creating the visualization, and the Instructor was very knowledgeable about each aspect of the modeling structure, with an interpretation of the finished product at the end of each section. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who is looking to further their Data Visualization skills for a career in Data Science in the upcoming years!

By Bob Bell on 9/20/2020

I was expecting more on best practices in data visualization than what was presented here. For example, correct layout and interpretation of data via visuals verses redundant/repetitive methods of displaying the same information leveraging differing visual outputs. In my opinion, the best and only useful module of this entire course was Section 11: Advanced Topics - Dashboards, Pivot Dashboard - Excel. Class was a waste of money. At least I got it on sale, so didn't hurt the pocket book as much as it could have.

By Roger Webster on 8/11/2020

It is very wide in scope, covering 4 major tools for data visualization. The instructor is quite thorough in most areas (though one needs to watch carefully as there times when the keyboard operator is busy doing things that are not explained). For covering such a wide scope of tools- Excel, Tableau, Python and R the focus remains as much as possible on the data presentations. One would do well to consider this from a few stand points- consider taking the course with first a focus on one tool and cover all the data presentation topics with say Tableau. When you have gone through all the topics go back and follow the EXCEL path notice the differences from Tableu while staying focused on building EXCEL skills. Then you might take a course on Python or R on the side so when you go back through the course again on say R the many times you 'just do it this way' will have some understanding on why (and what happens if you use upper case rather than lower case on a date function, miss a comma or quote, use [ rather than { or ( in the wrong place). With only happy path models it either takes a lot of exploration time or as I said a separate course before you start to really have a feel for what you are doing with Python or R. All in all a good course and I'm glad I took it.

By Anil Pillai on 8/10/2020

Its a good course very well designed with hands on practice. If examples of creating dashboards and storyboard in tableau were also incorporated then it would have been like an icing on the cake. Excellent explanation and presentation by the instructor.

By Christine Shearer on 8/2/2020

Pleased with this course. Now have the instructions/script to make basic plots in four different programs. The course also offers tips and resources on how to make effective plots. I think the cartoon female teacher is a nice change of pace from the usual kind of teaching on this site. One quibble is that I've come across some tiny errors in the Python scripts.

By Dan Glenboski on 7/31/2020

Using four different programs to create the Data Visualization charts was extremely valuable. I was aware of only two programs (Excel & Python) before I studied the course. I only wish that there was a more detailed reference pdf of the course. It would be helpful when reviewing the material. It's too time consuming to scan the videos for information.

By Jennie Carlson on 7/14/2020

This is a fantastic course for understanding the basics of data visualization, and common programming languages. It's a great crash-course/precursor to more detailed data science courses one may be interested in taking. I learned a lot, the videos and resources were very helpful, and I really benefitted from practicing what I learned with the homework assignments. I would recommend this course to anyone who would like to know more about data visualization, and/or the basics of Tableau, Python or R.
