The Ultimate Python Programming Tutorial (Udemy.com)

I bought this course years ago to convert from shell scripting to python, but never got around to using the course. I am now forced to edit and reuse a lot of pre-written python system automation scripts. I use this course as a visual reference in addition to online resources to verify and understand what I am looking at in most cases. Sometimes seeing the solution is the best teacher.

This has been a great course so far. Concepts are explained in good detail with a simple example. The detail is not too much either so as to overwhelm someone like me who is resuming to learn python after nearly one year of break. I would however like for exercises to be more tough and more in number may be. But there are a ton of examples available online otherwise for practice the concepts , so that's not really a huge problem. Thanks to the instructor who decided to keep it simple ! So far enjoying the course

It started out with easy to understand and the exercises were working. It seemed to have gradually gotten a bit more difficult for me to keep up. I'm constantly getting syntax errors. I've gone over some of the lessons over and over and can't understand why I'm getting syntax errors. Also, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with working on a Mac, but the "*.py" files can't be opened.

Excellent course. For a beginner, it explains everything that beginner should learn to start Python journey. For someone who learned Python on the go, and was using other programming languages before, like Java and C#, this course is very good way to refresh knowledge and fill in the missing knowledge. That is why i went through this course and I liked it a lot.

Undoubtedly, this course is designed for one who is a beginner to programming. Appreciate the step-by-step designed course structure and the examples. However, the exercises could have been better. I skipped almost all of them as they were not interesting/challenging. Instead of displaying a text, "Working Files for this movie can be found...", the tutor could have used an interactive voice, "Let us now open folder 1 and view the contents of file 1 to perform the task..." Precise modules were prime mover in this course.

It's really fantastic. I had no experience with coding and this is a great course (not too easy either, so it keeps you pushing yourself during the exercises). Even better, I can always pause and repeat until I understand the whole thing. It was great to show me that coding is not a career for me, but more for increasing my general knowledge :)

This is a solid basic course. It covers lots of basic concepts, data types, decision making,loops, functions, classes. It touches on basic computer programming best practices. I feel it was time well spent. Now I will be able to go on to the more advanced python. I am interested in Web scraping. But I was able , with just the skills I learned in this course, to write my own program to interface with the Yahoo. Finance API and download stock info for use in a spreadsheet. This course is fast moving so many many times I would replay lessons 3 times or more. Also I used the " back 15 seconds " button a lot and also by clicking on the screen to pause the video so I could scrutinize the code. All in all: this is a good course and the site worked well.

One of the best instructors so far in udemy. He goes through each step as he writes it and explains them in a way that even I was able to understand, and then reviews it at the end. I only wish there had been something to test myself with at the end of each chapter, or give some optional tasks to try. There were one or two of these but could have been more. As someone who doesn't know much about programming overall, I don't think there's anything better in udemy to start with.

This course is professionally presented, and provides a good overview of the Python programming language. Although the course covers Python 2, the concepts and commands are easily applied to Python 3. When the instructor used Python 2's raw_input() function, I simply used Python 3's input() function, and everything worked as expected. The course seems to end abruptly. There isn't a final lecture summarizing the major points covered in the course. Such a lecture would have provided a nice closing chapter to the course.

Some lessons use Python 2 and then later just switching to Python 3, as far as I understand. It goes through the code too quickly. Most of the excercizes are of "hello world" type, and then goes to recursive loops which are a bit more complicated to understand. Did not see any real world program applications, I would say it's an old school course, where you get some theoretical knowledge but not really sure how to apply it

Good exercises and concise explanations. It should include some links to other examples or maybe other supporting documents as some topics are not covered in detail.

This instructor's method of teaching is very clear as he describes each step with just the right amount of detail. I have gone back to replay certain videos when I need to refresh my memory.
