Course Description
Since early 2020, many governments, companies, and organizations around the world have encouraged or enforced "social distancing," working from home, and remote education. This continues to present unique and potentially difficult challenges for people who are used to studying and working in classrooms, libraries, and cafes, and who are now studying at home, possibly by themselves.
On the other hand, working from home also provides new opportunities to explore different ways of learning, finding a work/life balance, and having a healthier lifestyle.
The purpose of this course is to teach you ten tips that will help you maintain your concentration and productivity while studying and working from home. There are no magic one size fits all solutions, and even strategies that work for you may be less effective over time. I hope some of these tips are useful for you, or at least can inspire you to think about other strategies that might work for you.
I’ve been working, teaching, and mentoring from home for almost two years. I’ve had many discussions about work from home issues and thought a lot about the topic. I decided to make this course in hopes that it helps some of you optimize your time.

I am a full-time educator and writer, and former professor of neuroscience. I "retired" from that position so I could focus my time and energy creating high-quality educational material just for you.
I have 20 years of experience teaching programming, data analysis, signal processing, statistics, linear algebra, and experiment design. I've taught undergraduate students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and full professors. I have taught in "traditional" university courses, special week-long intensive courses, and Nobel prize-winning research labs. I have >100 hours of online lectures on neuroscience data analysis that you can find on my website and youtube channel. And I've written several technical books about these topics with a few more on the way.
I'm not trying to show off -- I'm trying to convince you that you've come to the right place to maximize your learning from an instructor who has spent two decades refining and perfecting his teaching style.
Over 350,000 students have watched over 50,000,000 minutes of my courses. Come find out why!
I have several free courses that you can enroll in. Try them out! You got nothing to lose ;)

Study tips - I've learned the hard way (by encountering, and overcoming several trials and problems in life: noise, distraction, space, etc.) by figuring them out by myself before doing these lecture series courses. I've built an "unbreakable self-discipline" to apply for self-study in daily life. So Thank you for this valuable guidance. Best regards

Great tips for learning at home or any place. There are some tips really helpful like schedule or todo list. I've written diary for more than a year, and I really found todo list works. This is some kind of inner power from human, quite interesting.

Kudos for the sound reducing earplugs and noise canceling earmuffs. I'll start shopping on lie for these items soon. A vote of thanks.

It gave me some good tips. Especially have to do with scheduling - I often think I have enough time to do it later, then the day ends and I curse myself for not putting in the time.

I am not much of a Self Studyer or whatever and I was looking for some tips on how to manage study while being stuck in this lockdown. This course or rather 30 minutes video tips proved very helpful especially the later ones.

That was a thoughtful thing to do! I ditn't actually learn something new, but in times like this it is nice to have someone with valuable tips or resources. Thank you for taking the time making this course!

Well founded advice in outline form; I appreciated that an accomplished teacher would take the time to put it together and offer it free in response to the current pandemic restrictions. Thanks, Michael.
