I’m also a designer from another field and I know the “fame” of typography among graphic designers lol...but here you don’t have to worry at all: she’s very experienced, reliable and careful so I mean you can follow her structure with no worries. Then, spend the rest of your time to practice, it’s the second big key. Thanks so much

Hi Wanda, Sorry for this feedback but as a beginner, I wanted to understand different type font styles better by doing some exercises and projects and eventually apply this knowledge to combine different fonts together in a project. This course is way too basic, more like someone reading a few pages from a book to me. If possible, pls add some exercises and more content on commonly used fonts/fonts for various industries/color effecting fonts and their impact/typing effectively etc etc. Hope you find these suggestions helpful to improve the course for upcoming learners.

Refreshing my use and categorization of typography. Basic elements are well defined and presented. I am from the world of the metal handset and photo typography - a digital word is an amazing place - I like the use of type terminology descriptive and measurement carried on from the past.

The course itself was simply a refresher of what I learned in the past as a Graphic Designer. I like how I got to do more quizzes on this course than I did the first one and I like how she breaks things down to simplicity in showing the different type faces, and especially the dos and don'ts. The only picky thing I dislike is that at times the lectures felt slow.

Wanda Granata introduced me to some very interesting material. It took a little time to get used to her accent, but it was well worth the effort. She generously gave us resources and links that will help us continue our study and practice of typology. So glad I took this class. Would recommend it to others who are interested in learning more about type.

I am not a designer, and have no training with this topic before this course. This course was always engaging and taught me more than enough to interact with my designer at a more sophisticated level. I've bought some of the recommended books, and I like them as well. Good length, very clear instruction, great use of Quiz questions for reinforcement.

I didn't realise there was so much to choosing the right fonts - i always stuck to Arial and came a cropper when I tried to use fancier fonts for headlines or titles. Now I know why! The practical tips and information provided will give me a much beter chance of producing appropriate, legible and smart looking pages. Thanks

This course is an excellent introduction to a rather specific field of interest. The lessons feature many concrete, real-world examples with just the right amount of history and theory thrown in to give a novice a sense of context. I also really appreciated that the lessons were quite short and digestible, each with a clear focus. And the built in quizzes were an excellent idea that I think could be expanded on further to give the learner more active interaction with the course. Thanks Wanda!

I really enjoyed this course. I learned the basics of typography which will come in handy when I do cover designs for books. I am very pleased with the amount of information I got for free and the materials I was able to download for later reference. I also liked the quizzes throughout, which made me think about everything I'd just learned!
