I work in IT, but more than that, I help people get into IT, grow in their careers and feel confident with tech that once felt overwhelming.
After spending years working with networks, systems and real world IT environments, I noticed a big gap. A lot of training teaches theory really well, but skips the practical side. I feel incredibly grateful that I had mentors who guided me through that side of IT when I was starting out, it made all the difference and it’s exactly what I try to provide for my students.

I am currently in a System Administrator role and felt like brushing up on some of my skills. I liked the instructor's clear speech and detailed explanations of the objectives of the course. Hoping the rest of the course will match the introduction.

I have just started the course, but the first impressions so far have been great. I can't wait to get to the hands-on part of it. By the time this course ends, I want to have a lot of knowledge and a practical understanding of system administration problems.

One of the very best courses on Udemy, without a doubt. The length and breath of this course is astounding, the way the tutor explains aspects, the accompanying documentation - that reinforces the course - helps immensely in learning and remembering. I think this course should be assigned to every potential IT Support / Junior System Administrators. It gives a fully detailed view of most components needed to be competent in this field. Well done to the tutor.

This is a good course for anyone looking to get into IT field especially System Administration. Dan is a great teacher. He explains the content well and the extra resources (pdfs) he provide are really informational.

Thank you for the great explanation. In the past, I wasn't comfortable with PowerShell and scripting—I found it difficult and somewhat boring. However, as I've started learning and practicing, I've developed a real interest in scripting and now genuinely enjoy working with PowerShell. You are an excellent teacher, and I look forward to learning more from you through future training sessions. Thank you for your guidance and support!

I'm evaluating the course to use with our own IT team here in Papua New Guinea. Cross-cultural mix of people from PNG, Germany, and America. I'm hoping this will be a good course for us to work through together as a group.

Great course! The instructor speaks clear English, explains everything well, and most importantly shows how to configure settings and why each one matters. There are also plenty of practical assignments and tests

This course is hands-on, but it lacks one of the most important elements for learning system administration: clear explanation. The instructor often performs steps without explaining the reasoning behind them. For example, during lab configuration, IP addresses are assigned without any explanation of why those values are chosen. In practice, IP addresses must align with the network’s subnet to ensure proper connectivity. This kind of missing context happens repeatedly throughout the course. As a result, it becomes difficult to truly understand what is happening, especially for learners who want to build real-world skills rather than simply follow instructions. If your goal is to replicate steps quickly, this course may be sufficient. However, if you want to understand concepts like networking, Active Directory, DNS, and system design at a deeper level, this course can be frustrating. I would recommend this course as a supplementary resource, but not as a primary learning path.
