Our take
Based on the ratings of 35,351 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in July 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Dr. José Prabhu J's course is a single-section, 28-lecture introduction to unconscious bias in hiring, running about 4.5 hours. It covers where bias comes from, how it shows up in screening and interviews, the legal side, and how to build a personal action plan. The structure is plain: one quiz and no exercises. It is pitched at HR students, HR executives and business leaders, though reviewers say it also works as an eye-opener for people outside HR.
Most of the 35,351 ratings are positive, with about 89 percent at four or five stars. Reviewers like the breadth, calling the material detailed, well designed and a useful nudge to rethink their own habits. The complaints are about delivery. Several say the narration is monotonous and the pronunciation hard to follow, and a few felt it just read slides aloud without examples. Many, including happy reviewers, say points repeat across lectures and that it runs long. One mentioned low volume.
It was last updated in July 2025. It suits someone who needs a broad awareness primer, perhaps a mandatory workplace training, and can put up with a plain lecture style. Anyone hoping for case-driven practice should note that reviewers ask for more real-world examples and a more interactive format.

The course was very exhaustive and covered all relevant topics in great detail. Sometimes themes and topics felt repetitive these can be reduced to make the course concise. More real-world examples would help to contextualize the learning better.
By Kesu Menon on 7/29/2026
Lectures were good and very critical. But it was lengthy. Several points were repeated in several lectures. It could have been shorter.
By Binil Bhaskaran on 7/6/2026
There could be infographics introduced in the course rather than just sharing bullet points and explaining each of the bullet points. Few aspects of the course could be trimmed and many concepts are getting repeated in a different way.
By Ramesh Banoth on 7/6/2026

The real-world examples, case studies, and explanations of bias in resume screening, interviews, and decision-making were especially valuable. The course was well-structured, easy to follow, and highly relevant to today's workplace. I would highly recommend it to anyone involved in recruitment, hiring, or people management.

The course is nice but it needs to be in Indian English. The south Indian accent is difficult to understand and also to understand each concept it should be backed by examples which was missing due to which it was also extremely difficult to understand the concepts otherwise the content was very nice.
