Video Editing using DaVinci Resolve (Udemy.com)

I’m currently taking the video editing course by Uri Soglowak, and so far, it has been an impressive experience. Here are my thoughts: Pros: Comprehensive Curriculum: The course covers a wide range of topics in video editing, making it suitable for both beginners and intermediate learners. Clear Instruction: Uri Soglowak is an excellent instructor. He explains complex concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, making the material accessible. Practical Examples: The course includes numerous practical examples and hands-on exercises, which help in applying the learned techniques effectively. High-Quality Production: The video and audio quality of the course are top-notch, enhancing the overall learning experience. Helpful Resources: There are plenty of additional resources and downloadable materials provided, which are very useful for practice and further learning.

I really enjoyed this course. It uses an older version, but everything still applies. I used to be really intimidated by color grading, but after finishing this course, I have a much better understanding. I am excited to use what I have learned here!

The course is not too basic. All these color grading and audio tuning stuff looks quite advanced for me and it is cool. Now not only can I accomplish my tasks, but also go the extra mile with color grading and audio tuning. Uri, thank you for the course!

The average course is a good introduction to davinci resolve, but the content used as exemple and practice footage is a little bit "off". The shot is under or overexpose, the color correction section show more some tools than a cinematic vision to do it. There is no mention of the LUT and somehow i feel like i had a practical overview of davinci resolve and no more. but it kinda help me on my own progression curve.

Enjoying the course so far. It is still early in the course. The material thus far is fairly basic although the presenter did say it would be a basic introduction. That it is! So far so good.

I had problems with getting the files from the provided zip folder. The folder basicly didnt show in the media section through resolve, so i had to make a separate file, copy and paste the videos into that file for use.

I like the course. Although, he has DaVinci Resolve 12 and I have the most up to date one, DaVinci Resolve 14 (free version). The 14 doesn't have any of the audio features accessible to him. Also the arrangement of windows and tools is a little different. I'm slightly lost. However compared to an up-to-date course, this course is more in-depth. I would have to really take that course to compare.

I was so happy to find this course for using DaVinci Resolve. I had no prior experience using video editing software. This course helped my understanding of editing video's and color grading. Now of course after taking any course comes the real work, putting what you have learned into practice and experimenting.

Luckely I already made myself a little bit familiar with DaVinci Resolve and was reasonble experienced in video-editing. For absolute beginners it might be way too much and go too fast. But then again it is an immense box of awesome software aimed at professionals. I learned valuable new things about editing and colorgrading in DaVinci. And have tons of experimenting ahead to discover it all...

Being a beginner, this did indeed surpass all my expectations; I was exposed to and learned more than I thought I would have in just a short time. Using a practical "real" set of clips and the restaurant walkthrough was really helpful, too. This is a WINNER!
