Hi! Thank you so much for the video course! I can really see an improvement in the quality of my videos after going through it. Everything was explained so clearly and was really interesting to watch. It was especially great to see how those little pieces of explanation eventually came together to create a whole story. I feel like I need more practice now. Maybe it would be helpful to start filming a story while going through the lessons, so I can immediately put what I’m learning into practice. I’ll definitely be applying all this knowledge to my own videos!

Andrew White surprised me with his skill and insights. Coming into this, I thought that his methods were super basic, and his advice was generic. I actually walked away with more than a few useful tips. This is in fact a very good course for learning storytelling.

The course was very good. I really liked how he changed settings and backgrounds, and I didn't lose interest while watching because it's not just one setting. He showed examples of real footage he had taken, showed how to move the camera, and also how he didn't go into technicality, but showed what and how to think when shooting a video. But the only problem with this course is that the example of what he showed is his interest. I was bored when he showed too many examples of the same concept of animals and history. I would have given it a 10 over 10 if he showed different storytelling examples, not just that one animal history story.

For so long I've focused on getting beautiful shots and working on technique, only to get into the edit and be at a loss. I tell people, "I feel like I shot a lot of great b-roll for someone else's project." I knew instantly the missing piece was a story to give these shots purpose and meaning beyond my own self-gratification that I could shoot well. This was directly addressed in the course preview, and I'm eager to learn more.

Really good tips for framing and camera work. Also good advices in composition and transitions during editing. Some parts felt a bit like an sponsored video from a camera, a software or the instructor own documentary. I think it is great to show case tools during training but not make them as an unbox video at least not for an education platform like Udemy. The lecture could also use some exercises that the instructor leaves. Things that have helped him to become a better filmmaker.

This videography and storytelling course by Andrew St Pierre White was exceptional. I learned an incredible amount, and combined with the editing course, I now feel both confident and well-prepared to create my own films. This is not a course for quick Instagram-style content — it’s designed for those who are serious about documentary filmmaking. The modules guide you step by step, building the skills and understanding needed to confidently pick up a camera, shape a story, and edit a long-form film with purpose. It also lays a solid foundation for anyone wanting to continue developing in the film and documentary field. Thank you, Andrew — you’re a fantastic teacher.

One word: AMAZING. F*ing most brilliant course I took so far, gives you such in-depth understanding on what it is that actually makes a video work, and it guides you every step. It even felt that the structure of it has its own story guiding you through learning about video. I love that it makes seem so simple once you understand the reason behind each element in the output, and it clearly explains how you can control the narrative. Excellent indeed.

In general, I liked the course. it focus mostly on the video storytelling importance from the camera man perspective. I took the course as a complement to my AI Filmaker journey and some of the advices where really insightful. I did not give 5 stars because I still think that the course did not cover enough to take some from zero to an outcome. Great course though.
