Wheelock's Latin : Chapters 1-15 Lectures (Udemy.com)

Really solid, I did a couple of years of latin a lifetime ago and really wanted to get back into it. Bought the Book second hand and was making some progress, but this course is really propelling me, the lessons so far are very clear and well paced the quality is over and above anything I did in school. By enrolling Im being held to account and I feel I will suceed with this endeavor.

I'm studying a basic level Latin course, not using Wheelock's Latin as the study book, and I am only a little way into this online course, but I find Dr. Lugosch's classes very clear and informative. He could have taken to the trouble to edit out little errors and technical glitches, but I find the material more natural (classroom like) with them left in. I'd say that his courses are well worth the money!

Absolutely love this course, despite not having the Wheelock book! Why do I say that? Well the teacher gives some fantastic advice on how to learn Latin, for example how to decipher Latin words by breaking them down into their smallest forms etc.
I also found his guidance on how to go about learning in general really helpful - Latin is not an easy language to learn, but if you use the Professors methodology you cant fail, i.e. look at your failures as a good thing, forget 1 step forward, 2 steps back, Latin is more like 1 step forward, 3-4 steps back, and even if you only learn one thing per day that must be viewed as good progress.
I've been using a combination of Duolingo, this course, the Oxford Latin desk dictionary, and a couple of Latin based wiki's, so the Wheelock book isn't essential par-se, but i do plan to get a copy once I have a basic grasp of the subject.
A great course, a must for anyone wanting to learn Latin.

Great course. Excellent teacher. And the outlier reviews were hysterical. "This course stinks raw eggs!" "Why thank you kind sir, may I offer you a refund?"

I can only hope for a significant improvement after listening to the introductory lecture. The presenter gave the impression of not being adequately prepared as he stumbled to give a few examples of pronouncing some consonants, the sound level was poor - more attention needed for the placement of his microphone, perhaps - and the laid back tone was soporific. If the analysis and explanations of the following chapters reach the heights I'm hoping for then I'll be delighted to change my opinion; but if first impressions count, I would not recommend this course to anyone.

It's thorough and he has a calming voice. It is particularly enjoyable when he gets impatient with his student personas.

I'm really enjoying the course! It is exactly what I've been looking for and the quality of the resources are worth every penny. Thank you for making these lectures and assignments.

I am confident that this course will be a very good match for me, even if my preference and need is to use Ecclesiastical Latin!
