The instructor covered some topics that I had not seen before such as what is a format string attack. Unfortunately, most of the topics were not covered in enough detail or with enough information to actually hack anything. The course format was more of an informative exposition of, for example, this is what a buffer overflow is rather than a training video on how to actually use it to hack into a system. Since I have already taken the Penetration with Kali Linux course and attempted the OSCP test a couple of times I was hoping to find some bits of detail that would help me advance on to a greater ability to hack. I didn't really find that in this course.

I thought the layout of the areas of focus were well organized, and especially liked the emphasis on providing a historical overview. This course is definitely dated - for example, the penetration testing methodology accredited to OISSG is gone (as in, the OISSG is no longer), but there is still very well thought out concepts and approaches that are used today.

Good info, but hardly any 'real-world' examples of gaining access. Many of the lectures say you COULD use this info to help gain access, but nothing further is explored/showed. I like the Metasploit example for that reason.

Very well structured and professionally done. He especially made clear how everything fits into the big picture which is something I did not find in other courses/material. There is not a lot of practical work done in this course, but I find it helpful as it compels me to learn these tools by myself (which is possible since he gives great direction as to the methodology which you should follow)

Still early in the program, but to this point, the instructor is easy to understand and knowledgeable about the topic. He's also delivering the program in a concise and logical order that makes you want to learn more and feel confident the course will cover the key points needed for our strong foundation to build upon.

Very good overview of many topics. Obviously a very knowledgeable instructor with a vast skillset. I was hoping for a little more hands-on demonstration, but this is a great course to jumpstart understanding theory, which is just as important (if not more important) than just learning how operate programs/tools.

Really good introduction into Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking. I truly enjoyed listening, learning, trying out all the new things on my own virtual environment. Highly recommend this course not only to software engineers in test, but to software engineers in development too (so we can together build more secure software and the world).

I have completed a couple of other ethical hacking courses with Udemy but this is the most professionally presented. The content is broad but very well explained. The presenter is very well spoken, which is a key factor in effective presentation. I would recommend this course above other similar ones in the same subject

Took this class while finishing up my Security+. There are some really good topics that are touched on, and it is quite obvious the instructor knows what he is doing, yet fail to go into useful detail. I was further put off upon reaching the section on wireless. All the examples used were blank and never got to observe the usefulness of what he was attempting to show.

The course was comprehensive in introduction to Ethical Hacking and best practices to stay safe , a great course for both security professional and those interested in learning about computer security software. The course will act great as a reference to practical work that students will have to undertake themselves.
