Course Description
Wind Energy is one of the most famous renewable resources in the world. There are lots of tutorials out there regarding Wind Energy and Wind Turbines Modeling, however, most of them are not following a clear path, and they will confuse the students. Therefore, I decided to create this course to not only show you all the complicated terms and concepts about wind energy in simple terms but also teach you how to develop a wind turbine or a wind farm model for any location in any part of the world! Amazing right?
In this course, you will learn:
-The concepts of wind energy
-The basics of wind turbine
-Some basics about coding in Python
-How to formulate a wind turbine model
-How to write a python code to calculate the power output of a small-scale wind turbine
-How to download wind speed and other related data from the Internet for any location
-How to develop a practical model for single wind turbine power output
-What is Wind Farm and how to develop a wind farm model in Python
-How to visualize the results
Since this course is designed for all levels (from beginner to advanced), we start from the beginning, we start every concept from the beginning, and code each model together in Python. Each line of code will be explained carefully.
One thing that makes this course different from other courses is, by enrolling in this course, you don't need any prerequisites since I even created even a complete tutorial to teach you the basics of the Python programming language that you need for this course before we start coding! Moreover, we don't use ready codes, and together we get our hands dirty during the course to write all the codes!
This course is designed in a way to make you from zero to hero and after taking this course, you will be able to:
`Download, visualize, and analyze the wind speed data for any location in the world!
Visualize the power curve of the downloaded data
Create a wind turbine model considering all the real-life parameters
Creating a practical wind farm model

As engineer and educated mathematician I enjoyed this bootscamp. The phd teacher explained complex processes easy going. It would be nice to extend the wind mill power models to future predicting models. Use the same output directories with other Long term predict models and libraries and put machine learning around.

This course needs some updating; the format of the data obtained from NASA and the site itself have changed, and there are features the pandas library has deprecated. Aside from that, though, these are solvable problems—after all, one shouldn't expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. However, I realy like this course, i learned a lot of things in this course and I gained new perspectives.

Really enjoyed the explanation, theory, and implementation of the models from the math up in the first half of the course. I would have preferred sticking with this method over switching to the package. Or, doing one of the more realistic one turbine models from the math up and then introducing the package with the wind farm model. Overall excellent.

This course is clear, engaging, and incredibly rich in practical knowledge. I am learning a lot and gaining confidence in turning data into actionable insights for green technology projects. The course perfectly combines technical skills with problem-solving in real-world energy scenarios. Thanks

Really good course! Short and detailed videos that get right to the point which I love. The coding walkthroughs are really good and you honestly don't need much coding experience (I am familiar with Python so this is comfortable to me and at a good pace still) to follow along. Don't bug out if the websites and such look a tad older, everything still looks and works the same. Great course Navid, thank you!

Very informative and gives a great way to build wind turbine models quickly but it would be good to do this in a functional programing paradigm rather than declarative. The reason for this is that you introduce all the mathematical models yet we simply use libraries to execute the functions which make it hard to grasp the intuition of the mathematics and makes us have to remember certain lines of code.

Amazing! I am totally new to Python but have prior experience modelling turbine power using Matlab, this course shows just how powerful Python can be especially with open source library like windpowerlib for this purpose.

It is a course that provides great value to those who want to know an introduction to the modeling of wind turbines with python. I encourage the professor to create a course in python for modeling in the photovoltaic field and be encouraged to join it with wind energy. A full dimension with this content would be a great contribution to the community. I do not give it five stars because the python refreshment did not get into important content such as functions just extremely elementary content. But in short, a great course fully recommended.

I am already impressed with this course. The instructor is knowledgeable and engaging, making complex topics easy to understand. The course covers fundamental aspects of wind turbines and their modeling, especially for someone who never worked with Python before and is a beginner. Overall, this is an excellent course that I highly recommend to anyone looking to increase their knowledge about wind energy concept and improve their skills in wind energy modeling.

I am a master's student of Energy Engineering, and recently I passed a wind energy course. But the course was entirely in numerical format. This course would surely provide me with a new method of designing wind turbines through Python.
