Course Description
Let me guess, you’ve taken an Intro SQL course and don’t know what to do next? Or maybe you’ve taken a few months or years away from SQL and need to brush up. Either way, this course is for you!
This course literally includes 101 Practice SQL Questions! In fact, majority of questions include multiple parts. Including those multiple parts students get access to 286 practice questions. This gives individuals ample opportunity to try, fail, learn, and succeed.
The instructional level is listed as “All Levels.” However, those taking this course do need to have some basic understanding of SQL. The course includes basic, intermediate, and advanced questions. This course will not teach you concepts step-by-step. You will learn by attempting the question, using a hint if needed, then watching the video explanation. Video explanations are provided to show students how to answer the question; however, each question has multiple answers. The instructor simply shows students how he would answer the question.
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) will be the database management system used in the course. All the questions in the course are answered using the Microsoft Sample database, AdventureWorks. The syntax used in SSMS is T-SQL. Hello, my name is Curtis and I enjoy solving problems. More specifically, I enjoy solving problems through logical, strategic, and data-driven thinking. I studied finance before finding my passion for healthcare, which led to studying healthcare administration at the University of Minnesota. My passion for healthcare come when my daughter was born prematurely, only weighing 1 lb at birth. This passion was inspired by clinical professionals who are driven to help patients heal. I love knowing that my work is in turn helping clinicians and patients. I've recently found a love for teaching complex subjects and simplifying them.

I was really looking for a course that can help me practice T-SQL in a guided fashion and this course was just that. It is helping me build familiarity with T-SQL Syntax, explore the various scripting constructs et al. I also liked the way the questions have been categorized as Basic, intermediate and advanced, which aids in objective self-assessment.

Probably the best SQL course I've come across, as the instructor is highly knowledgeable and covers all the bases for how SQL is used in a professional context. He attempts to get you thinking about database fundamentals and system tables, and introduces a broad swath of tools frequently used in a production environment. The course isn't limited to your usual SELECT * FROM. Presentation can be a bit monotone at times and a bit dry but I would suggest looking past this as a lot of thought has gone into this course.

Honestly learned so much more with his questions. Made me see what areas I was not comfortable in (took notes of the functions and etc to work on). I would say that patience is needed, some of the questions were confusing for me, maybe it was the way they were worded but all in all it was an amazing experience. Part of taking this course will help you learn how to ask the right question, I found out that in the later questions, I could solve most easier because I had become familiar with functions I never knew existed. Thank you for such a beautiful course, not many courses let you practice like this and get hands on experience. The course also helped improve the ways I would make a database.

The course is a wonderful set of multiple excercises to practice on AdventureWorks. I recommend getting some theoretical knowledge first aswell, especially taking into consideration more advanced topics. The course has an index of functions and techniques, which really supports practicing particular subjects. One of the best courses I bought on this platform till now.

This one of the best courses you will indulge to learn lot of things about querying, and it will let you to think not only in the query aspect but also in the data aspect. In this course i have learnt how to write a query in different way it helps me gaining confidence on writing query. The most important part is writing query is easiest thing here you will be subjected to solve the problem based on understanding data. I have got some tips in understanding data before writing the query all of sudden. In my opinion tutor can give us more question on query which will help us to understand data that is the only concern which I have, apart from this everything is great.

There needs to be more time spent going over the ERD. I'm still confused on how the views work and how it connects with the AdventureWorks Entity Diagram. Majority of the questions haven't been hard in terms of using the tools of SQL, a lot of time is spent understanding how the entities connect.

This is a real wonderful course I ever had on Udemy business, it helped me a lot in understanding how various function works, but a little improvement could be there if the questions were more difficult. Anyways anyone doing this course I would suggest doing it twice, this manner you will understand the db more.

I found this course a great way of practising SQL Server. It has some advantages over other methods, including the use of many tables, and a clear E-R diagram. There are questions at all levels. The video explanations are very useful when you struggle. Overall, highly recommended.

I love this course. I have recently learnt SQL through various online courses and was looking to test my knowledge on mock dataset and challenges: this is a perfect place for that! The course is very well-thought out and structured. It tests you on a wide array of topics... while giving you small tips & trick along the way which I suppose one can only learn while solving problems. I liked the pace the instructor set. He is concise and clear. So if you are new to SQL and want to familiarize yourself with what it has to offer, this is the course to take.
