Pros

Cons

    • The lessons are concise, making it easy to split the program into the recommended 30 days or continue at your own pace.
    • Progressive learning techniques help students to build on previous knowledge. This allows the tutorial to teach graphic design just as well as it teaches Photoshop.
    • Active community of Photoshop newbies helps foster exuberance and overall learning.
    • Content largely sticks to the basics. Photoshop veterans looking to expand their knowledge should look elsewhere.
    • Following the daily schedule reduces the chances of finishing the series. 30 days is a long commitment.
    • Tutorial largely skips 3rd-party plug-ins.

The primary host, Aaron Nace, is awesome - friendly, explains things well, isn't afraid to say 'you know what? that could be better' during his own tutorials (and show you how to make it better). Seriously - PHlearn is great.

Free and easy. Guy that teaches it does well to explain things.

Phlearn is killer for anything photoshop related. I learned a lot about masking and layering from them, as well as cloning and other things.

Ive been using Photoshop for couple of years now but I know theres still a lot to learn. This beginner to intermediate tutorial is a good way to empty the glass and understand better ways of working.

For all the beginners who expect to become Photoshop masters, you wont. At least in this short period of time. Once you go through the 30 days of tutorials, do everything again, but on your examples. In two years, youll be great! Practice makes perfect!

I started using PS because of PHLEARN. They're the best and I appreciate them. I'm jumping on this because relearning and refreshing is how things stick with me.
