Ableton Live: Your Guide For Musicproduction with Ableton (Udemy.com)

I'm a complete beginner but love singing and have written a few songs that I want to make my own music for. I actually previously did another online course which gave me a basic idea of how to use Ableton, but with this course I have learnt so much more in detail that the other course I previously did didn't offer. I enjoy that the videos are bitesized and consumable and not 20 minute videos as it helps me learn a little a day. Thank you!

This course is amazingly good! I struggled for a long time in understanding concepts like when and how to EQ, how to use compression correctly, etc. Youtube Channels always seem to overcomplicate these topics or just ourright skip right over them. This course is the best course I've ever taken. The instructor really knows his stuff. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders in regards to mixing and mastering.

I am updating my rating through the course. This is a COMPREHENSIVE course. I have learned more in the past month (i'm on chapter 20 of 25) with this then I had in the past two years. I have skipped some things because I'm versed in music theory already (so I can't opine on that chapter). I will likely be using this as a reference tool for some time until I'm ready to fly on my own. IF you are looking for a crash course (2 hours and you are up and running) this is not the course for you. If you are expecting to be entertained, then this is not the course for you. This is fairly academic, so it is likely more suited for people very focused on learning and mastering these skills.

repeating same thing over and over. 53 but still on basics

The section on 'how to use' the Ableton instruments and effects is a bit weak. It's more really Phillip 'playing' with the buttons rather than 'teaching', much as i could do myself. That aside, the rest of the course, so far, is excellent (5 STAR). Good level of detail delivered with a very pleasing teaching style. I am getting a lot out of the course, and i am really glad i signed up for it.

This is great, It feels like just the right combination of breadth and depth I was looking for. I understand a lot about recording and electronic music, but wanted an introduction to the Ableton paradigm. Philipp clearly has a lot of experience teaching, is very comfortable with the material and strikes a good pace for me. A friendly german accent and subtle sense of humor is a pleasant bonus. Thank you Marius and Philipp for putting these together!

Wooowww ......this is would be the 1st time in my life that I am actually sitting still without losing focus or attention, usually, my ADD would sort of kick in by now and convenience my brain to get up and start walking around for no apparent reason ...so far I love it, Udemy could help me change my life inshallah

Starts off with a great introduction of the program for beginners. Unfortunately, the midi/audio effects section leaves much to be desired. In the modulation section, the instructor literally didn't even map the LFO to anything so the effect did nothing, though he did spoke as if it did. I would recommend that the course creators either avoid trying to teach the effects they aren't familiar with or spend some time researching the ones they are going to demonstrate so they are able to provide real useful examples rather than just toying with knobs and settings like any of us can do. That said, there was some useful info on compression/limiting for someone who doesn't know much about those topics. I'm hoping the hands-on part of the course redeems things and maybe I'll bring this back up to 5-stars. Edit: Several of the sections just following the one on effects had some good information on recording, midi, and arranging. The audio to midi feature is awesome! Going to bump this back up to 5 stars since there is so much breadth to this course and I'm getting a good broad introduction on what the program has to offer overall.

let me be honest. at the beginning was boring for a newbe like me in the AL software and with DAW in general. A "let's play with together live" after few lessons should be added to the first part. Despite this the content of this couse is really complete. the end part with the go through in composing is a masterpiece counting that is included in the price of the course! Only bad thing is the low video resolution and no zoom in the display while moving the mouse. thanks a lot I'm very happy that I got this!!

The Most Practical Music Production Course Online! This has been the most practical music production course I've found so far on Udemy, where we actually learn how to produce music. Many other courses online just show the features available in DAWs but not the practical application of how to use these features in context/music. This is now my #1 go to Music Production course! We are taught how to create all parts of a song (drums, keys, vocals, bass, etc.) and how to export it to share with friends/family and streaming platforms. As well as how to use it in a live session! Thanks Philipp and Marius for sharing your knowledge and experience we really appreciate it!
