This is a great beginner course. I had very limited video editing experience and NO video compositing experience before watching this course. After going through it I was able to create a promotional video for one of my clients that they were very happy with and it has produced good results. This course won't make you an expert in After Effects, but it will certainly help you get up and running quickly so that you can then move on to a more advanced course or just feel comfortable enough to start playing around with it on your own. Well worth the cost of the course.

Tobias is a talented and fun instructor and his passion and knowledge shines in these courses, and i fully recommend them to anyone, beginners and experts alike, check these courses out. There is always something to gain from such a talented instructor.. Thanks Tobias, looking forward to intermediate and advanced courses in the future!!!

I love the fact that the material was covered in depth and it wasn't boring. I wish that he could have covered more things like expressions, etc. I'm always looking for very comprehensive courses. But I really am enjoying this course.

So far seems just what I wanted...an overview with enough meat on the bones to increase proficiency in AE. The lessons proceed at just the right speed and complexity...easy to grasp yet striding forward at a good clip. The examples seem readily replicated, and are entertaining in their own right. Overall excellent and a lot of fun. Would enjoy a sequel.

This is a great course to start working on After Effects. Tobias is a great instructor and he's quite fun! My only comment is on the last lesson, where we are supposed to rotoscope using masks. I know that Tobias gave us the opportunity to use already-rendered versions of the rotoscoped videos. However, I wanted to go the hard way by using masks to rotoscope, which proved to be quite exhausting. My only comment would be to have a couple of more videos to show us how can this be done with the rotoscope tool in AE, and then we can choose whether to use that or the pre-rendered videos.

All in all, it was a great course and I'm looking forward to the intermediate/advance course from Surfaced Studio. Cheers!

Great course. I really found it useful. I will actually be running through it a second time in the near future.

I have no suggestions for improvements on this class. But, I do wonder if Surfaced Studio couldn't offer a couple of others to go along with it -- perhaps one on Adobe After Effects CC alone, and maybe another on just what each of the effects does (or at least the most useful of them) and how to apply them.

All in all, though, terrific. Had a great time.

I accidentally stumbled onto the Surfaced Studio YouTube channel one day while searching for information on After Effects. In one of the videos there was a link to Udemy that changed by life for ever. I discovered a whole new world of learning. Tobias (and his sidekick Walter) is one of the funniest instructors I have seen. His courses and videos takes you on a magical After Effects journey of discovery and learning. Information and tips are presented in a very structured, detailed and fun way. I am eagerly waiting for the next Surfaced Studio course!

This course has been my first encounter with After Effects and it really helped me understand the basics very well. 5.0 rating absolutely deserved!

I found this class to be very easy for my level. This course strengthened my knowledge and understanding of AE. I am still very much an AE novice. However, this course only confirmed that I am an intermediate user.

I can't recommend this course enough to new and semi-experienced AE users. The lessons are laid out very well and the explanations are concise and to the point!

I really liked the course, touched the topics I most wanted to learn (special effects). I like his style and humor.

There were a few points that I didn't quite understand why certain things had to be done a certain way but I'm sure I could have contacted the instructor to find out why, I just never did. All in all a clear and great course! Looking forward to more courses from this instructor! Great Job and thanks!
