Jordy Vandeput runs the Cinecom production company and a YouTube channel, and this is his short beginner course on After Effects. It runs about three hours and follows a simple path through the interface, stock footage, tracking, text and shapes, animation and generated effects. The description promises practical examples instead of boring technical stuff. It needs a copy of After Effects CC installed, but video editing experience is not required. Think of it as a first pass for the curious, not a full motion design education.

Reviewers mostly talk about the teaching. They call Jordy engaging, funny and clear, and one says the intro section is well paced and does not bury beginners in workspace detail. I liked the quick pace. Videos were short and sweet and that's the way it should be. If something is not clear, just watch it again. I enjoyed the production values and the energy of the instructor. I am pleased because I have a good foundation in After Effects. My aim is to recut serious movies into comedies for my own pleasure and also add goofball effects. This course has taught me how to help that process and has given me an excellent starting point to learn even more. Thanks!
