What is Agile?

Agile is a mindset and an umbrella term for a set of related methods and frameworks that help us to deliver projects on time and more efficiently.  Based on my experience, it is the number one mindset used to deliver projects on time!

Who should take is course?

Whether you are a team member, business owner, scrum master, product owner, developer, business stakeholder or simply someone who wants to understand what makes agile tick, this is the place to start.  If you are preparing for an agile certification, this class is for you.

What will I learn?

In this class you will learn:

  • Concise overview of Agile - The exact mindset, principles and practices used to deliver a project using agile along with the history of Agile.  This includes lectures on the fundamentals of Scrum, Kanban, User Stories, DSDM, Extreme Programming (XP) , Lean Software Development and more.

  • The facts based on the Agile Manifesto and Principles - The correct terminology and use of Agile is essential to mastering it. The Agile Manifesto and Principles are the foundation of Agile and many do not truly understand them.

  • Agile Certification  - To get certified I teach you the foundation of Agile along with frequently asked questions (FAQs) and frequently misunderstood points. You will collect your Agile Certificate once you have understood these points and completed the course.

What are the pre-requisites?

  •                                                               This course is video based with no supporting document necessary.  I go through key gotchas based on the Agile Manefesto and Agile Principles created by the founders of Agile.

How is the course structured?

Each section features an overview of a particular aspect of Agile such as the Agile Manifesto, Agile Principles or Popular Agile Methods and Frameworks like Scrum and Kanban. I include  a summary of key methods, practices and frequent misunderstandings in industry.  All is based on the Agile Manifesto and Agile Principles from the founders so you know that you are learning the facts.

Perfect if you are interested in agile certification, agile methodology,  agile development, agile software, agile definition. Or if you are interested in increasing your Scrum Master Salary, gaining a Scrum Master Role, furthering your Scrum Master Training or meeting a scrum master job description.

Inspired by God, the Bible, my mother and the founders of Agile

This course is a wealth of practical information on the various aspects of Agile/Scrum/Lean etc. I found it to be very much geared to software projects rather than overarching practices across all project management streams. There are some audio issues for the Jira video (section 59) which made it hard to follow along, however the parts you can watch are very useful to setting up your board.

Course is well structured and easy to follow. I was glad to see the resources attached so it is possible to review them later again. I just would like to see a bit more detailed overview of Lean and DSDM, maybe more examples but I assume they are not very popular in IT

With Agile, you organize your project into “sprints,” where each sprint or phase results in the next draft. You work closely with both your team (editors, designers, etc.) and customer (publisher) throughout the project to meet expectations and incorporate any suggested changes.

Excellent introductory course to the world of Agile, I would definitely recommend this course to anyone just getting their feet wet in the Agile sphere and also a good refresher for more experienced hands. Kudos Paul, well put together. Cheers

It was good. The only certification organization listed is PMI. PMI is sort of unusual; If they were offering a driver's license certification, then one would have to attend 20 hours of classroom instruction and drive 80,000 miles over the next 3 years before taking the exam and paying $500.00 to receive a driver's license.

Good introduction to the principals of Agile. I have done a reasonable amount of project management using waterfall in the Engineering field, and took this course to introduce me to the basics of Agile to move into a more software related field. Good course for anyone looking to expand their knowledge.

Found this to be VERY informative and everything was explained very well. Reason for 4.5 star is that I found Section 5 or 6, Unit 30 (SCRUM) which was an important section for me slightly hard to understand due to the animation and voice over audio. The regular audio was much easier to understand. Also, in some sections where numbers were mentioned in audio, they did not match the info on the slide decks but that was a minor issue.

The course was extremely useful. It's complete guide to know about Agile management and Principles of Agile. Detail explanation of Scrum, Kanban & Lean approach. The quiz was good to check on your understanding. Good examples and clear on setting up the project in Jira. Very useful.

This was a great, very informative, and thorough course. This course was exactly what a professionally produced course should look and sound like. The downloadable resources were also superb. I foresee myself using this course as a review/reminder for quite sometime. Great job!

Rating 5 out of 5 stars. Because of this course, I can't stop learning other project management approaches to improve systems, operations, and activities that will enhance and build quality project management. Having great lecturers and presentations learning agile project management becomes so easy and understandable in every lesson.
