Course Description
The AI-Assisted Android development by Petros Efthymiou.
Learn how to leverage the best AI tools to build native Android apps really fast.
AI is everywhere, your feed is full of posts about ChatGPT, Copilot, and how developers are 10x more productive.
But when it’s time to actually build an Android app using AI... you’re on your own.
Which tools should you use?
How do you prompt effectively?
How do you get AI to follow Clean Architecture?
Can AI write Compose UI? Should it?
Can you trust its code? How do you debug it?
Most courses completely ignore this.
They teach Android development the same way they did five years ago, as if AI doesn’t exist.
But the game has changed.
This course is your roadmap to building Android apps with AI as your pair programmer—from day one, in real-world conditions.
What You’ll Build & Learn
Together, we’ll build a real production-level Android app, powered by:
Clean Architecture
Jetpack Compose
HILT for dependency injection
Coroutines & StateFlow for async state handling
Retrofit for networking
But here’s the twist:
We won’t just build it manually.
We’ll build it side-by-side with AI tools that accelerate your development process and act as your intelligent coding partners.
You’ll learn how to prompt like a pro, avoid common pitfalls, and truly collaborate with:
Cursor
GitHub Copilot
Chat GPT
Claude
Gemini
And more.
We’ll even take things further and integrate generative AI as a feature inside our app—because the future of mobile development is not just building apps with AI, but building apps that use AI.
Why Learn from Me?
I'm Petros Efthymiou, a senior mobile engineer, author, and instructor with 11+ years of real-world experience in startups and multinational companies.
I've trained 100K+ developers via Udemy, Amazon best-sellers, and live workshops
Creator of “Android TDD Masterclass”, a top-rated Android Udemy course
Author of “Clean Mobile Architecture”, a best-selling book that’s helped thousands of devs level up
Currently working as Mobile Trainer at Backbase, training:
Internal R&D engineers
Professional services teams
Third-party developers
Over the past 3 years, I’ve embedded AI tools into my daily workflow, building real products and discovering what truly works—and what doesn’t.
This course distills all that experience into a step-by-step, production-focused learning path so you can build faster, smarter, and more confidently with AI.
Why is it important?
Because the way we write software is fundamentally shifting.
Developers who know how to collaborate with AI tools will build faster, ship smarter, and outpace those who don’t.
This isn’t about replacing developers. It’s about amplifying them.
You’ll still need architectural thinking, design skills and debugging abilities but AI helps you:
Write code faster without skipping best practices
Offload boilerplate and focus on the hard problems
Catch edge cases early by asking better questions
Use AI not just to code, but to think alongside you
Soon, AI-assisted development will be the norm.
The sooner you master it, the further ahead you’ll be—both technically and professionally.
This course is here to get you there.

Petros Efthymiou
Hi, I am Petros, and I am a passionate Software Engineer and instructor with over 10 years in the industry.
I struggled a lot in my early stages when I realized that in order to take my career to the next level, I needed to learn how to do things properly instead of just "making it work." In my journey to become a better engineer, I followed hundreds of courses, articles, books, and conferences. What I have always been missing is a single source where I could find the best practices integrated and working together. I often studied TDD, for example, but was unable to apply it to a production Coroutines-based system. This is the problem I am tackling in my courses.
I am teaching best practices using real-life examples. I make sure to explain all the reasoning behind every decision but also provide a state-of-the-art skeleton that you can re-use on your own product instead of having to combine the pieces by yourself.
I have worked on multiple Companies ranging from ambitious startups to large multinational companies as a Senior Engineer and Software Instructor. Currently, I am employed in Backbase as a software instructor team lead, making sure that our superstar developers revolutionize the old, rotten banking industry.

No info about AI at all. No sub agents, no hooks and other things how to use. Only basic that even not smart people can understand by themselves.

The course is interesting and helpful to learn AI usage and development. The course could be more user friendly if AI prompt text were all provided (you can find them some ones in Notes tab provided by other candidates). Also a github link to be able to download the project at a specific step if for any reason we lost our work (github project could have tag of each step).

The content of this course is good and valuable. I rated it 3.5 stars only because there were no files with the prompts, and the screenshots weren’t included, which was quite annoying.

Informative and practical use cases to use Cursor and develop android applications. I like the fact that the teacher enforces the fact that the developer is in control of the project and makes the architectural decisions to allow the LLM produce the code accordingly to those set rails. Also was helpful to know how to set up Cursor rules to enhance the prompt sent to the LLM to keep it in context.

The course is almost useless and everything more or less useful from it can be translated into a 20-minute video. Suitable only for those who have never used AI for programming at all.

Clear, practical, and exactly what I needed! This course exceeded my expectations. The instructor explains everything clearly and gives real-world examples that make complex concepts easy to understand. I especially appreciated the hands-on sections ,they helped me apply what I learned right away. Highly recommended for anyone looking to level up their skills!

I build apps on the side, and this course gave me a real productivity upgrade. The tools like Cursor and GPT are impressive, but what made it valuable was seeing how to use them effectively without becoming lazy. Great insights into AI-assisted workflows.

I took this to evaluate whether AI tooling is worth integrating into our team's dev flow. The course delivers a clear, honest perspective, with practical examples, not hype. Would have liked a section on CI/CD or AI-assisted code review, but overall a solid resource.

As someone just getting started with Android, I was afraid AI tools would be too advanced — but this course explained everything clearly. I loved how Petros shows how to use Cursor and GPT step-by-step to actually improve your code. Highly recommended if you're still learning!
By James Johnson on 6/25/2025
Great course if you're curious about AI in Android dev. I’ve been seeing all the hype around AI-assisted coding and wasn’t sure where to start. This course gave me a clear roadmap and showed how tools like Cursoe and GPT can actually help in real-world Android projects. Highly recommended!
